Here's a look inside the box of Trumpeter's new 1:144 Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC)

“THE LANDING CRAFT, AIR CUSHION” (LCAC -- pronounced Ell-Cack) transports weapons systems, equipment, cargo and personnel of the assault elements of the Marine Air/Ground Task Force both from ship to shore and across the beach. The LCAC is a high-speed, over-the-beach fully amphibious landing craft capable of carrying a 60-75 ton payload at speeds of over 40 knots. These vehicles, commonly used in the United States Navy, were first introduced in the 1980’s and still being used to this day. As evidenced by successful operations in Somalia, Bangladesh, Liberia, Haiti, Lebanon, Iraq and Kuwait, the LCAC is combat-proven. It has also proven invaluably in times of disaster, including tsunami relief and hurricane rescue operations.

Thanks for sharing Gator, I had heard that this was coming out but had not seen anything till now. I will have to add this and have it next to my Airfix SRN4 hovercraft. Ciao Luciano

Thanks for the look. Amphibious operations sure have come a long way. That skirt looks pretty good, I wonder what material it’s made from.

1/144.... closer to my eye scale. I guess that's why they were pumping out 1/144 scale vehicles.

Do they have a 1:144 LAV? That would be cool.

What a welcome addition to kits. It would be cool to get some 144 scale armor (I'm sure there is some) to put on this kit.
