French Battleship Richelieu

Scale- 1/350
MSRP-$134.95 USD

Vessel History
The battleship Richelieu entered service near the end of WWII. Distinctive features included 380mm guns and thicker armor than her predecessors.

Battleships of this class were considered to be some of the best ever built. In 1942 the Richelieu was sent to the USA for a refit to add anti-aircraft guns and new radar equipment.

These changes brought Richelieu up to date with the latest naval technology and weapons, and she went on to serve in the Atlantic through the balance of WWII.

Comments

This one is especially sweet as it shows Trumpeter is continuing pushing the 350 scale market out further and further. This is not one of the mainstay type warships either. What I especailly like is that 2 other Japanese manufactures have entered the fray so far with releases of some Capital Japanese warships, and a 3rd is planning on another entry. Maybe with the success that is going on in this field, we'll see some other interesting kits pop out in the next few years. 700 scalers are also reaping benfits in this rising interest in ships as well.
