Continuing to build on its fine range of 1/700 Photoetch accessories Lion Roar announced the release four sets of name plates a short while back, one each for the USN, German Navy, Royal Navy and the Imperial Japanese Navy. The Lion Roar set LE700070 is for the IJN, and the subject of this MSW News Update.

This kit is now available for purchase.
  • P24771_0
This new line of ships name plates by Lion Roar will allow you to have a custom looking alternative to your usual engraved nameplates.

The set includes the name plates for the six aircraft carriers of the Japanese strike force that struck against Pearl Harbour on the 7th of December 1941. In this set all the carrier names are in Japanese.

Kit features:

  • There is a guide included with the set to show the carrier names in English beside the names in Japanese.
  • The six carriers covered are Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu, Soryu, Shokaku and Zuikaku.
  • The name plates appear to be made of relief etched rectangular plates

These nameplates will definitely provide the unique finishing touch to your ship model.

I can, of course, take pics and write whatever anyone asks to know about the nameplates, but a review has already been published here: http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/pe/lionroar/le700070-ijn-names/lion-roar.html Let me know if anyone requires more info, I should get that shipment (which includes the 350 Nagato ) next week!

Although there are reviews of certain products on other modeling websites, mate, we can still use the same product reviews here at MSW....the more reviews and opinions that are available on a certain product (s) across the net, the better it is for modelers to make the choice of whether to try the product(s) or make the choice to pass on them...we'll be glad to have your review submitted here! (and any other's, as well...member submitted reviews are MOST welcome, all the time!)
