"Trumpeter's second variant of the Kongo class battlecruiser, the
Kirishima took part in the raid on Pearl Harbor after which she
participated in numerous South Pacific battles. She was scuttled by
her captain in Sept 1942 after suffering severe damage inflicted by the
USS Washington at Guadalcanal."


Kit consists of 300 seperate parts, on 8
sprues, plus an additional SH-60J helicopter. Additional features: Full or
waterline hull variants can be constructed, separate sonar details included, hangar deck can be assembled open or closed, 127 mm. machine gun turrets in fine detail. Markings are for Div 61 Yokosuka.
Completed kit measures over 18" long.

"A New Orleans class heavy cruiser, she was coincidentally at sea for gunnery practice when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

The Minneapolis immediately took up patrol and participated in the War in the Pacific, disrupting Japanese supply lines and
protecting the U.S. fleet in various WWII sea battles. She remained active until 1947."


Kit consists of 196 seperate parts on 10 sprues.
Additional features: waterline or full hull assembly, 8 inch gun turrets, two SOC seagull planes and display stand with name plate. Markings are for MS21 camouflage, 1942.

I only wish it was the Kirishima you describe, but alas, this one is 65 years younger. But if DDG174 was around the Pacific in WW2, things would have been a whole lot different.
