Trumpeter Models have been busy throughout 2008 with some very exciting releases in both 1/350 & 1/700 scale kitset releases.
Today it has emerged that they are to continue with even more 1/700 releases.
These are scheduled future releases only and have yet to be officially released by Trumpeter Models, but it seems safe to say the future looks bright for the model ship community and Trumpeter.

  • Tribal Class Destroyer HMCS Huron
  • South Dakota
  • USS Massachusetts

Another Repulse? The Tamiya kit is more than sufficient. Two Prinz Eugens ? Again the Tamiya kit. A Blucher or Hipper would make more sense. The Renown, SoDak, Mamie, Liberty ships and Tribals, Yesss!!! Maybe a County class or 1942 Exeter will be around the corner. Bob Pink.

nice to see the Tribals and Renown but a predictably dull choice in my opinion. Really what is the point in producing another Repulse in the same fit as the Tamiya one? I don't usually get involved in commenting on these sort of things but you hear so much about why companies won't produce this or that ship because of marketing issues then you see a list like this. I can only assume there are some common parts between Repulse and Renown but I wouldn't have thought that many. Mike

Hmm, I see little use for having another Eugen around. The Tamiya kit is quite good and can easily be converted to the late war version. It would make more sense if they release a Scharnhorst given the old age of the Tamiya model....or even a decent accurate Z-class destroyer. About Renown, hopefully it's the modernised version. I also wonder about the rumours of Tamiya releasing a County class or HMS Exeter.

They are releasing the Eugen and Repulse in 350, so I figure they just scaled them down to pick up a little gravy from that.

why another or two more versions of Prinz Eugen. The Tamiya one is just fine. We definitely can use her two other sisters, Hipper or Butlcher, that for sure.

How about a Midway class in 1/700. How about a Forrestal , Kitty Hawk class in 1/700.
