Nautilus Models has released two new replacement decks for Dragon’s 1/350 DKM Scharnhorst and 1/350 USS Independence. Along with these new items, Nautilus is also proud to announce the upcoming Micro-Thin wood deck for Hasegawa’s 1/350 USS Gambier Bay. A wood deck for Trumpeter’s 1/200 USS Arizona is also in the works.
350-540 DKM Scharnhorst Wood Deck for Dragon Kit
This wood deck is a direct replacement for the kit deck. It requires a little surgery to install, but the effort is worthwhile.

350-522 LIGHT CARRIER WOOD DECK
This set is for the USS Independence as she appeared in 1944 at the Battle of the Philippine Sea (Great Marianna Turkey Shoot).

Just a warning, based on the line art he's provided, he's missing the second cat. The deck will work for 1943 though. Additionally, the kit was designed for a 1943 fit, so if the builder wants to do 1944 there are other changes that will need to be made to the island and area under the forward flight deck overhang.

Very nice looking decks. I know there are starting to get more and more of these from all sorts of companies. Wish I had either kit and the deck to go with it. Thanks for the heads up Ken!

Looks nice, but I wonder how it attaches to the DML Independence kit. The DML deck is quite a large casting with many details on the side and I can't imagine it's just a replacement part. Hopefully more pics will enlighten us soon... Cheers! Stefan
