I would love to go to something like Telford sometime but I think it would be hazardous to my bank balance. I wouldn't know where to stop. At the far side of the world it's nearly all on line so random purchases are rare but the poatman still finds his way here with the occasional goodie.

My IJN navy now stands at 3!
cheers
Michael

Michael,
I too have that wonderful kit in the stash and am anxiously awaiting the right time to crack it open. Flyhawk recently released a Gold Medal Edition PE Upgrade set. I will be making that part of my next order for the store.
Looking forward to watching you build her.

Something I've been after for a while but have been cheap about and only willing to spend so much for it. Finally, a baseball collector had one he wanted to get rid of on ebay so I got it for $21.00 US, shipping included. The first of what many consider the first
true submarine - a boat designed to be faster under water than on the surface and be able to stay submerged for days at a time.
There's plenty of the cut-away version of the kit out there but I wanted the sealed hull version.
My 1/144 fleet of steel sharks is growing. ICM had announced an IXC a few years ago but no word on it yet.

Nice additions Guys,
Picked up my next build for Guadalcanal campaign, the etch for it, (eduard) some eduard etched German light AA, and the Pontos deck for the Admiral Hipper.

Hi Dave,
yes I have seen the Flyhawk set on their website but haven't seen it for sale. I am not sure I want to know the price given its contents. It will be hard to ignore.
cheers

Hi All,
Found this little gem on an Ebay Auction. A little hard to find but I needed to add some more light cruisers to the growing IJN fleet. I give you the IJN Light Cruiser Nagara,

The Heavy Cruisers Ashigara and Atago will be joining the fleet soon.

Thanks Si. They are pretty cool and have a significantly different line from the Agano Class Light Cruisers.
Well the Inventory of Aoshima kits arrived yesterday and well I had to pull one out and add it to my personal stash.
The IJN Heavy Cruiser Ashigara. According to Aoshima they will be opening the production of the IJN Nachi in January for a short period of time.
The Cruiser fleet grows.

The IJN Heavy Cruiser Atago
Now to work on acquiring the Mogami Class.

Some nice looking kits everyone, recently I've been building armour so only tracked hulls passing this way of late. Still find time for ref material though.

Picked up the X craft from Hannants Colindale shop today. That is going straight onto the bench for the silent service Campaign.
The also had the Tamiya 1/350th Kagero for £30, couldn't leave that behind.

Si - nice haul, I had three of the X-CRAFTF or sale in the store and they went pretty quickly. I know Eduard has either already released an upgrade kit or is pending release. Glad to see that it went straight to the bench. Looking forward to adding the Kagero to my growing fleet.
For me I have gotten in the habit of adding something for myself when I order inventory for the store. This time it was from Flyhawk. So along with the HMS Aurora kits that arrived for the store the IJN Nagara Upgrade Kit and the Gold Medal Edition Nagato Upgrade kit arrived.

The Nagato upgrade kit is very very nice.

All the little boxes are resin kits containing life boats, binoculars, generators, and other assortments. Underneath are a lot of baggies with all the brass barrels, masts, and other turned brass along with the wooden deck and the 18 sheets of photos etch.
I think I have found my big project!!

More on the X craft over on the Silent Service Campaign.
Some serious brass you have there, looking forward to seeing on the slipway..
Cheers.

Hi all,
Well a shipment of 1/700 warships and some tracky things arrived for the store and among those was this little gem.

Been wanting to increase my IJN Destroyer fleet. Now for the Shimkaze to be released.

Well I had to organise my own Christmas giving and most of it arrived after the day but it was worth the wait.
I have waited for one of these for a while as I would like to build it as a 1921 version

along with some brass to give it detail

In fact it was a brassy Xmas because courtesy of Dave "Rolltide31" Foster I also have a set of Flyhawk's super super detail for Nagato. As Dave described above, it's very impressive, if not somewhat daunting.

And from RC Subs, and hopefully for the Silent Service campaign, lots of etch for IXc plus some resin.

As always just got to find the time now.
cheers
Michael

Hi everyone,
Well the fleet continues to grow. I grabbed the IJN Mikuma at a great price through auction and the Shimkaze from a dealer.

Looking forward to building the Shimkaze and placing her next to one of the bigger builds.
