Hi all,
The postman was kind again and delivered a couple of packages. The first is my reference for the Fletcher Class Destroyer and having taken Luciano's advice regarding the 5" Main Guns Alliance Model Works 5"/38 Turrets with brass barrels.

This reference book has great information about the USS Heermann which led to me to realize I had to buy the USS Sullivans kit in order to actually build the Heermann, should be here in a couple of weeks.
The next is another IJN Heavy Cruiser, the Takao. Now to get my hands on the IJN Atago and my collection of Takao Class Heavy Cruisers will be complete.

Well that's it for now. Have some more stuff due in...the stash is building, much to my wife's consternation..

Hi all,
Well the postman did it again but this time with the FEDEX guy.

So here is the I19 IJN Submarine, figured it was only fair to get the I19 which damaged the USS North Carolina during the Guadalcanal Campaign since I did the same thing with the USS Dace and the IJN Maya. Also I received the PE Kit B for the IJN Light Cruiser Agano which compliments the IJN Noshiro detail kit.
Also in the stash is some zimmerit for a track thingy I am building for Armorama.
And last but not least is Hasagawa's Equipment set.
More to come soon I hope.

Interesting items Dave, while over here the postie dropped off these:

Guess you can see from them either what's already on the bench or what will soon hit it. They all have the protective film on so the image may not be that clear on some, I don't remove the film until after the ship gets its dull coat.

Hi Luciano
I too have the type 45 destroyer from Airfix. Really looks like a great kit and can't wait to start it.

Hi Rui,
Is there an English access/option for the Japanese site you used? ( www.1999.co.jp ) I browsed the site but got hopelessly lost in it!
I've been disappointed by the amount of time it is taking for HLJ to deliver orders as of late, my latest package has now been in transit for over three weeks.
Frank
Hi Frank,
Sure is: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/
Great service, great customer care (if you have questions).
Yes I know the feeling about HLJ... Unless you choose EMS, it takes forever for the package to arrive! And EMS turns the shipping "heavier"!
Hope this helps, and sorry for the url, perhaps I should have write this at the first place.
Cheers,
Rui
Hmmm.. Sometimes their customer care can be questionable.. If you pre-order something they won't give you a price for shipping and then they hit you with a huge bill. You tell them no way is it fair and you don't want it and the aren't happy even though their postage is way too high (like Squadron's).
Cheers
Warren

Russell I know what you mean.
Postie turned up with two parcels today, one from across the pond and one from across the channel.

The book is the British cruisers of WWII, an old library copy bit rough but then again with a rare book you got to get what you can find. The rest are 3 PBY's, twin 40s, twin 40 tubs, two sets of 20s, Mk.51, 37 and 38 directors and bridge equipment plus some other bits.
Still waiting for part of the order, twin 5" turrets and 20mm ammo tubs.

Hi Ya'll
Luciano, nice haul from L'Arsenal. I have a few of those kits myself and I am very happy with their quality.
Also based on your recommendation I went and purchased the Sullivans which arrived the other day.

very nice. When paired with the Tamiya Fletcher there are endless possibilities. I might need to get a few more to match up with the other two Tamiya kits I have.
Anyway, now that it is here I will be working on the USS Heermann tomorrow.
And for the next post package, thanks to Todd for his review of RBs products. I went and purchased the pick up pencil and the glue tips.
Also in preparation for the IJN Tama I purchased the Rainbow models brass strip set. This will be easier than the Maya.

always love adding to the stash and tool box.

Nice one Dave, I'm sure you already have pe and replacement gun houses for a Fletcher as I'm sure you will have seen that the gun houses are off in shape.
Any way waiting for me today when I woke for the night shift was this nice beastie.

I'll be building her as HMS Kent so purchased the extra gun house and also got a drawing on the fore mast height change. Detail drawing kindly supplied by Peter Hall with the kit after I informed him it was for a Kent build..

hi ya'll,
Well my IJN Fleet continues to grow. The postman dropped of this difficult to find little gem today.

Cant wait to find time to build this.
Luciano, Nice haul. The Anatomy of the Takao is a great book. Please let me know your thoughts on the WEM Fletcher PE set. I looked at the description and it seems to be missing some things such as doors. Really interested in your thoughts.
thanks

Also PM me if you want some aircraft to go with that beautiful ship. I have quite a bit on hand

Hi all,
Well the FEDEX man showed up yesterday with a package from HLJ. I now have all the parts for the Noshiro which should move into the shipyard next month.
I also got another IJN Destroyer to increase the protective screen for the fleet.
And the Pontos set for the USS Yorktown. I had ordered it months ago but after waiting two months I cancelled the order. The other day I looked at HLJ's inventory and much to my surprise there it was.
It is a beast of a kit. Really looking forward to getting the Yorktown under construction. Will be my first Aircraft Carrier.

Luciano,
Initial impression is that it is a great upgrade kit. It comes with a huge set of color instructions. A quick glance at left me with little confusion as to what is expected.
I would recommend it for your Tico.

Thanks Dave
I plan to get the WWII hat for each nation I've got ships for, so far I have British, German and American. I'm not bothered if they are not original just thought it would add something to the display of ships at shows.
I've seen Soviet and French even Japanese available but Italian and Dutch may be hard to find.

Si, Nice haul with the reference material. One of these days I need to spend more money on reference materials than I do on building my stash.
With that said, the postie was kind enough to drop off a couple of packages.

The IJN fleet is growing. Found these two on Ebay for a great deal.
