Si,

Thanks. I have been wanting the Tone for a while and I got lucky. I too am a book worm and try to have as much reference as I can before a build. It definitely helps

Now I have most of what I need to build a 44/45 Intrepid.

Ship related or not, nice books Luciano.

Nice haul Pete,

I have built CVL 22, great kit, if a little bit of a handful.

Cheers,

A couple of tomes for the collection.

This to aid my cruiser campaign entry

And this for a future build when I can get hold hold of the kit.
(Thanks for the info Luciano)

cheers

Hey all,

The gallery is finally up and I can share my recent requisitions. The IJN fleet continues to grow.

Postie dropped these off over a few days

and then my favorites

The Fujimi Premium IJN Fuso and the IJN Shokaku

We need another Battleship Campaign and an Aircraft Carrier campaign. I have not dug to deep into these boxes but from what I did see the PE sets that are in the box are pretty substantial.

Last but not least I finally have the PE set for my IJN I-19 so I am good for the Silent Service Campaign.

Impressive bunch of Kits Dave.

An Aircraft Carrier Campaign would be great, maybe to follow after Cruisers.

Cheers.

Wow nice haul Dave.

I second Simon, bring on a carrier campaign after the cruisers.

My small (by my standards) haul.

HM Submaines cap tally, deck for the '42 San Fran, book so I can use the correct terms and baffle some of you and 9mm casings to dress up some of my bases (the black 'bullets' are just plastic inserts and pull out)

Modest but class haul Luciano,

Got a couple of bits and pieces to pick up from Hannants at Colindale on Saturday, will share those when I have my hands on them.

Cheers.

Oops forgot to include these two.

The little box contains resin replacement 16" turrets for the North Carolina from Blue Ridge Models, book is self explanatory.

Luciano

Very nice haul. Would you mind taking some pictures of those turrets? Would be interested in seeing them

Dave, this is what's in the box and a comparison with the kit parts, the resin has better fine detail around the base (missing from the kit) of the turret and on its tops and rear surfaces. The sighting hoods are far better, blast bags included none in the kit and the brass barrels are gorgeous.

Luciano,

Very nice. I see what you mean regarding the comparison. The Blue Ridge are definitely a step up

Thanks again

Picked these two today.

From Pontos, 1/350 Mikasa upgrade & Graf Spee deck.

Whilst I was aat the LHS I saw this, wingy thingy I know, but at least it flew off a carrier.

Found this little gem on ebay for a great price. The IJN Silent Service is growing.

I now have several options for the Silent Service Campaign.

The great thing about submarine kits is you can build several examples within the time of a Campaign Build. This is an interesting and seldom known IJN submarine.

And did you remember to give out the meds before school?

Michael,

You are so right about being able to build multiple examples which I plan to do. Oh and no, I forget to remind my wife about the meds

I just received the Merit 1/350 CV-6 Enterprise today. Photos to follow. Many of the parts are stamped CV-5 so they are the same parts as the Yorktown. Hull still has huge hull plating. Comes with 5 F4F, 5 SBD, and 5 TBD aircraft.

Here are the photos of CV-6. Looks like it will be a nice model.

Same bad hull plating as the Yorktown.

Greg,

Yes the plating is overdone, but it isn't anything you can't fix with a little effort and sandpaper. How does the rest of the kit look?
