Gents lets try to keep it good natured and civil.
As far as British carriers go all I could find were and Airfix 1/600 Victorius and an Aoshima a 1/700 Victorious.

Hi Keith
Fujimi make the Ark Royal, Victorious and Eagle (the latter may be in post-war fit) in 1/700. Revell have also pushed out an ancient interpretation of the Ark (love the pun?), which I remember (very fondly) building as a child. That kit comes with a destroyer (Tribal I think - could be wrong) and has some funky boxart of the Ark sinking after being on the receiving end of some u-boat attention - that might make a nice (sic) dio????
Carriers aren't my bag but I'll be watchin' this one from the sidelines.
Cheers
Karol

I,ll be on the look out for a British one anyone recommend one apart from Ark Royal by Arfix.
British carriers are fascinating subjects. Heller produced the Illustrious and has recently released a Colossus-class light carrier, both in 1:400.
I'm looking for drawings of the modified Illustrious variant HMS Implacable or Indefatigable. Any recommendations?

Let's keep this in the usual way
I know that sometimes we get carried away by emotions, but in this particular case, please stay cool!
This is a multinational, all ages, naval ship modeling community and these kind of comments don't bring any added value to it!

More on British carriers:
A lot of Britain’s escort carriers in the Atlantic were Bogue class carriers that originated from the US. Tamiya has a nice USS Bogue kit that could probably be used to portray a British escort carrier. If I remember right most of them entered service in 1942 or 1943 so using that kit will fit into this campaign. I don't know where you could find 1/700 British naval aircraft though
Here is a list of British escort carriers

I've just returned from a long day of intensive training, to find this on our forums...to echo Ken and Rui's statements, and this is NOT off topic for me, this is an international group of modelers, all gathering together for the love of this hobby....let's choose our words most politely, gentlemen, as what is not offensive to one may be very offensive to another...I have edited the post, and will be deleting the argument between you guys...keep it off the forums, it will not be tolerated here at MSW...

I want to build the USS Vermillion. It was sold to the British and renamed the HMS Smiter before seeing action. Is it ok to build it as the Vermillion and not the Smiter?

I think that fits into the campaign guidelines so I don't see a problem with it.

David,
I was going to do the USS Hornet CV-8 1/700 but earlyer this month (B-day) My darling wife got me a USS Hornet CV-8 1/350....... my old eyes need the bigger scale.
my old eyes need the bigger scale.
The ship just arrived just a day or two ago (e-bay).
I purchased the Hanger deck detail from WEM (be here tomorrow)
I also purchased The Hanger detail that the great folks at "The Resin Shipyard" started producing.
There will be more additions before the start, I like to detail as much as I can.
Question........would anyone know where I could pick up a used copy of "USS Hornet Blueprint book from Maryland Silver Co"?

Hi Frank!

Don't know about Maryland Silver's Hornet blueprints, but I do have a copy of Floating Drydock's USS Hornet War Damage booklet which features some of the ship's decks and an inboard profile. Would copies help?

Frank,
Sounds nice, 1/350 is too big for me to fit in my allotted space. The wife has me limited to one bookshelf I keep waiting for someone to release a 1/700 Enterprise CV-6 that doesn't cost over $100

HI Frank!
I'll send the Hornet stuff along in a day or so--I first have to move my 1:48 Lexington and Hornet hull sections onboard the Midway.

I've signed up, but don't know what I will be doing yet. Maybe my Hiryu I have in my stash or a 700 scale Akagi with the Lion Roar super detail set.
A question, I noticed the rules stated no fictional ships. However, what if a person decided to do the Revell kit of the DKM Graf Zeppelin. The carrier was never fully finished and the builder would likely need to take a few creative liberties as far as paint scheme and some equipment.

Never thought of the Graf Zeppelin, she did exist (launched and named) but she didn't serve so she kind fits into the gray area. If anyone wants to build it I would be inclined to say that it would fit into this campaign. Close enough in my opinion.
