Though she may technically be disqualified due to the false start last week, my HMS Glorious is progressing steadily. Yesterday I added the sides of the upper hangar and the flight deck, and man, those double-decker carriers sure stand tall--I placed the Trumpy Lexington hull alongside and the Glorious' flight deck just towered over.

This is good practice for the Akagi kit--another double hangar design.

I've ordered the Eduard PE for the Shinano along with some paint to match the camouflage colors and washed the plastic and had a read through the instructions - I don't think this is against the rules? I'll mostly be waiting for the PE to turn up before I can make any serious progress though.
Happy New Year everyone!

The end of the year is here and the campaign starts tomorrow. Will we have a build thread opened up for us to post updates?

Yes, Frank, this thread will be locked, and I will post a Campaign Build thread in the a.m. to reference the Campaign...

Well, it's been 1st of January for a while here in Europe now

No hurries Gunny ... I just can wait, to "get started" on the Akagi ... which will mean to wash all the parts

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm not sure if we're posting here or if there'll be a new thread, but as I haven't seen a new thread, I figured I'd start here. I painted the flight deck of the 1/350 Fujimi Shokaku today, and marked up the instruction sheet to show me where railings from the kit set will go !

I'm planning on cutting strips of tape to mask off random planks of the base color, then mix a slightly darker shade and so on. Again, this is a first for me, so do you guys have any advise on how many shades I should have? I figure three or four, but any suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Michael
