great and quick response!

I just enlisted #15!

Will be building the USS Essex, 1/700 scale, Dragon kit # 7049. Those are the Dragon a/c kits with the choice of full hull/waterline and also the "transparent deck". Plenty of time to research and get stuff together. Cheers.

Depending on what happens between now and then on the 1/350 carrier front to change my mind, I think I'm solid on the full hull 1/700 Kaiyo idea with bells and whistles.

Very well done, Rui! That will stand out in any ribbon stack.

Sounds like a great idea for a campaign. I've just started my KGV and am nowhere near ready to tackle the Akagi! I'll see how the next few weeks progress before I decide. What am I thinking of getting myself into here!

That is a nice banner, how would I go about posting it on the page? Is that something I can do or do I need an admin?

Here is what I was able to come up with for a ribbon. What do you guys think of it? If anyone wants to make a different one please feel free.

With such a banner, perhaps someone should ask Filipe Ramires if he would like to participate...

A 1/72 carrier, to be completed in one year ?...

Entry #17, I hope one year will be enough time to build my 350th Akagi. Looking forward to this one.

One question here: Do Hybrid warships qualifies for this Campaign ?
I know that the immediate answer is NO, but with the recent arrival of the Ise (Fujimi) and the forthcoming Mogami (Tamiya), these could make some very interesting options and they also had a partial flattop, too... In their own, they do not justify a Campaign, so perhaps they could be included here, as "half-sisters" ???

I believe I will start now getting all my AM stuff for Sara. A year to plan a year to build, that shoud be enough.

Nice ribbon and banner as well.

Sounds like a plan! I live in the south end of Guelph and work out of Toronto,... on a current MTO contract on hwy69, south of Sudbury, my current schedule has me up for ten days followed by a four days at home.

Hi Chaiça

Although I am not the campaign leader, according to the rules I would say.... no!
Flattops mean that they should have a clear runway where planes could take-off and land... But, as I said before, I am not the campaign leader, so let's hear from him!

No harm intended

I'm in agreement with Rui, the Mogami and Ise hybrids where simply put,.... heavily armed sea plane tenders.

I'll keep my hands off of her until the start of the campaign, plenty of other projects on the go.

Hi Chaica,
Sorry for taking a while to answer your question. It pains me to say it but I would have to say no to the hybrid warships. The main reason is that they didn't have a true flattop or the ability to land aircraft in the traditional sense. They had the same aircraft handling capabilities as a traditional cruiser and couldn't operate as a true carrier.

No sweat !!! As we say here in Portugal, I was just "looking for wood, to get myself burned"...

Nevertheless, I´ll follow this Campaign closely, as it´s a theme that I´m very fond of....

i bought a Hornet from someone and they did a tiny amount of work on the hull. I haven't started on her. Would I still be able to enter her? I can post a pic of the hull if you like?
