Right! After much metallic grinding and a big thump, I have switched gears. I give you:

(That's the Fujimi 1/350 Shokaku, in case you can't tell from my lousy photo.) I have not started it and it seems to be a kit that isn't getting much respect. I think it looks great and since it's my first big carrier in a while and I'm only using the photoetch railings that came with the first release, this sounds like the right choice. So for now, anyway
, this is my entry.
Let the launching begin! (I assume from the above posts we can start now?)

Any chance we can start our build during the Holidays? I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands the next week or two....![]()
I'm in for this as well. Might be a couple of days before I can make a real start though. Have to order the PE for the Shinano first though so that will limit what I can do for a couple of weeks.

So is it official? At the very least I'm going to wash and prep the parts. I'd really like to star building tomorrow if it's ok.

The Shinano plastic has been washed and laid out to dry. Today is a research day really. it appears that when she went down she had a 'pink' flight deck. The wood of the deck had a red tinge to it but the grey had not yet been painted on - that was part of the final fitting out to happen at Kure. Anyone know of an acrylic equivalent to IJN camouflage 2 and 21? I know of the WEM colours but I've never used enamels.

Do we just post our progress in this thread, or should we make individual threads (like the MSW Contest)???

I guess we'll stick toghether same as the Devine Waterline Camaign.
I got the Camouflage scheme down for Bearn:

I still got to figure out about the change of defensive weapons, when she went into transport service, but then I can get started.
I can't believe I'll be building a carrier finally.
Cheers and good luck everyone!

Whether you post your pictures here or make a separate thread is up to you, either way will work just fine. Please use the campaign gallery though

Good show, Guido!
I have the L'Arsenal kit as well and I will probably find a way to team that kit up with the Hermes as they briefly operated together early in the war.

Hi, Karl!
That would make a nice dio. How do you plan to build the Hermes? Fully from scratch? Do you have plans?
I been spendig the morning to colour the artwork of the camo issued for Bearn by Floating Drydock. I have changed a few things, which IMHO are not correctly drawn up. Especially the starboard side of the artwork differs a lot from the pics one can find. Please mind the colours shown are not matching the original, but may only show better contrast than the grey/grey drawing.

There will be a lot guess work concerning the AA positions...
Cheers,
Guido

Is that a "HAVE TO", or is it ok to use my own webserver for storage of the pics, and then link to them?

You can use your own server. At least one finished pic in the gallery would be nice though

Well mates, I don't mind if there is a revision on Campaign starting times, BUT, as an official MSW sanctioned campaign, the starting time is still January 1st on this one (as you can see from the campaign main-page)...any revisions in our sanctioned campaigns have to be run by the Campaigns Administrator (me!
), because I do have to keep order in all sections of our site, and there are rules to follow for our sanctioned campaigns. No MSW sanctioned Campaign can begin before the posted start date to be completely fair to all entrants. At the very least, a pm should have been sent to me with an inquiry of such, as we are a tight, friendly group of guys here, and keeping in touch is an important note.
So with that said, if there is a revision to be made in the Campaign start date, I will need to be notified to change the said date(s) and make it "official", lock this thread and start a separate Campaign start up thread so that all involved knows what is going on....Aye?

ah yes.... the horror of starting a week early, we can't have all that chaos and pandemonium.
I'm working on an ICM 1/350 Konig so won't be starting on my carrier until next month.

ah yes.... the horror of starting a week early, we wouldn't want to create all that pandemonium and chaos and force the admins to have to set up a whole new thread with officially changed rules... my goodness.... Is this a contest or a group build?
I'm working on an ICM 1/350 Konig so won't be starting on my carrier until next month.
Neither, Scott...it's a sanctioned campaign, with a set of rules that are followed by everyone at Kitmaker...which is not open for adjustment by anyone...
And until you have actually volunteered any of your service to us "admins", as you have put it, Scott, kindly keep the tongue-in-cheek remarks to the pm system here, because we don't support this type of behavior at MSW forums; bottom line, take it or leave it...I'll rack this up to your newbie status here, but trust me when I tell you this, this is not the time nor place for it.
And if you would like to continue the discussion on the topic, just click the little "message button" to myself...

Hi Guido!
Yes, the Hermes will have to be scratchbuilt, but, thanks to the internet, finding references is not as tough as it was in years past. I already have drawings worked up on Eagle and will turn to her when the Campaign officially starts in the new year.

The end of the year is here and the campain starts tomorrow. Will we have a build thread opened up for us to post updates? Also I haven't recieved my Maryland Silver Company book yet so I was wondering if any one had a side veiw of the USS Hornet that showed the frame posistions? Hopefully in scale (1/350) or at lest with some measurments. Any help would be welcomed.
tonight will be celebrated with Sparkeling Vodka.....

Yes, Frank, this thread will be locked, and I will post a Campaign Build thread in the a.m. to reference the Campaign...
