Hello Jan,
Nice looking build. If you say you are done, Then you are done.
Make sure you put a photo in the gallery.
Again, Great looking build.
Cheers,

Thanks Bruce,
I might return to it later for the rigging, but for the moment its in the cabinet and when kits ends up there they tend to stay there

I did put some pictures in a WWI Warship gallery in the active campain section, but apparently theres 2 gallerys covering the same subject - a task for Mark ??
Cheers and good luck with the rest of the campain - off to submarines

Hello Jan,
It is the summer and lots of Honey-Do list for everyone.

I think that when school starts and fall gets here, You will see more modeling done.

Small update:
Deck paintedWhen I went to mask the deck, all the paint pulled up - in chunks. Removed paint with oven cleaner, washed and scrubbed in tire white bleach and then again in warm water. Sprayed with Mr. Surfacer primer, only to find paint will still come off the model quite easily. Rrrrrrr.
Options:
1) Put model in the microwave while cursing wildly (SWMBO would frown on this)
2) Break out the easy off and strip the paint again (ugh)
3) airbrush base coat and hand paint deck.
I'm leaning towards option 3 at this point...

Take a deep breath, leave it be for a few days, don't even think about it. When stress has left, then go back to the model. As you so aptly put it, this hobby ought to be fun.
And I agree with Kenny, don't nuke it. Just let it sit as loong as it needs to.

I was just kidding about the microwave guys! Two pictures of her with her primer coat on:
Picture 1 Picture 2 You can see where I was able to flake the paint right off the barbette. The ship in the background is the yet-to-be-finished HP USS Wyoming, which was my entry into the Forgotten Sisters campaign. Yep, I build 'em slow!

Some entries for this campaign: Temerarire, Dreadnought, Audacious, and Liverpool in 1:350.

Latest on Rollcall is that the master has been sent to BattleFleetModels USA for casting. This is an unusual build in as much as I have started from master to get to the kit stage, and then to continue to build.
The model I sent is in "photos" just uner my avatar, and there are three images.
My next stage is to write the instructions and doodle a perspective, and then hopefully you can all join in, and build one.
Cheers

Peter,
That is a very nice looking ship. Should be a nice kit when all is said and done as well.
Thanks for the heads up!

For my part, I got lured away by the charms of the Trumpy Repulse, but I will return to the Audacious, Dreadnought, and Temeraire very soon.

Hello All,
This is what I am going to try to do.

There is alot of clean up to do, As you can see

And a few more photo's of the parts and such

When I got the kit in the mail, I opened the box and found that alot of the parts were off the sprues and every thing was in one big bag. There is alot of clean up to do first before I even think about putting it together. The scale is 1/74, Not your normal scale for a model.
The box is 24 inches long and 14 inches wide, So it makes taking a good photo of the cover very hard to do. The hull parts is 18 inches long. That makes it a large model to me. Some of the parts are light gray and others are blue. Very strange way to make parts to me.

 Wish me luck,
Cheers,
Bruce

Karl, I know it - getting sidetracked is my speciallity

Bruce, aside for the massive flash on the parts, its still looks like a decent basis for a build.
Theres a sale on Mickster - you might be able to use some 1:72 figures for your build if the scale is not too far of - thay have both US and british WWII figures that might be adapted for your use.
I think I will have to get that kit someday...
Cheers/Jan

I tried to invoke self discipline, but that gorgeous Repulse kit had that 'come hither' look when I opened the box...

Hello Jan,
The flash is a pain, But the biggest problem is some of the parts are off the sprues and have no number on them. A couple look the same, So I am going to have to guess where they go.

Thanks for the tip about the figures, I will have to look at them.

 Cheers,
Bruce

Hello All,
As there has not been any updates from any of us, I figure everyone is Very Busy working on your models.
I have to go in for Heart Surgery on Monday, So Jim McIntosh (JimMrr) was accepted the duties of XO for me. I have full confidence in Jim, He has won model contests with his Predread Build. What more can I ask for as an XO then a model contest winner.
I will be gone 10+ days.
I hope all is well with each and everyone of you and your family.
Cheers,
Bruce
