Guido - That is just gorgeous work... the construction, the water, the rigging and beautiful bases. Your builds are very inspirational (as in, "I wish I could do that!) : )
Personally, I am still trying to finish my Camo GB entry on time before I start mine in here
Cheers

Nice work Guido!
Progress update on the SMS König - All the armament is assembled, just need to do a quick check and cleanup before I hit them with some Tamiya Primer. I've been working away at the inflated life rafts, the solid plastic waffle patterns have been removed which was a bit time consuming. Next I'm attaching the see through mesh PE, should look much better than the stock kit part. Photos soon.

That's beautiful work on the rigging--always a hassle, even for 1:350.

Gentlemen,
The pics are in the gallery now, so with this mail I am bringing my contribution to a close.
Here is my bit added to the campaign: NNT's 1/700 SMS Goeben.
It's been a pleasure, but I made too many compromises and a few flat out mistakes. That's what happens when you rush a model to get finished. Anyway, again it was learning experience.
Cheers,
Guido

What an elegant result, Guido. I love the simplicity of Great War ships and you captured it so well.

Guido – Fantastic work; I wish my best efforts were close to your “mistakes”. Your photography skills are also fantastic. The ship itself is a gorgeous example; truly a great build.
Andy – very nicely done. Love the lines of that ship, you did a good job capturing that feel. Cheers

Great looking work guys. The Goeben and Iron Duke are really great looking. Guido I echo the comments about the photography and the rigging, very well done. Andy the Iron Duke really looks like she means business. I've got the Warspite in the same scale, same maker, and I can see some similarities in the two kits. She's very well done also.

Hello All,
Great work everyone.
@ Andy,
Great work on your HMS Iron Duke, Make sure you get a photo in the gallery for your ribbon.
@ Scott,
Great work on your build. I bet the life rafts were a pain to do, They came out great along with all of your other work. Thanks for the photo's and update.
@ Ken,
Your water base looks great. Good luck on your rigging( The 1 thing I hate about ship modeling

) Thanks for the photo's and update.

Scott - really nice job on the life rafts, something to keep in mind. And a great job in your detailed WIPs as usual. Your photography is also top notch!
Kenny - Looks great; I really like the water base. Now on with the rigging!

Thanks James, I appreciate it.
Guido, I really like your SMS Goeben. I just ordered the same kit of the Goeben and am reading "The Last Battlecruiser" by Owen P. Hall. Great book, although it looks like the editor dropped the ball there are typos, mis-spellings and incorrect words used on almost every page. Still a great story though about a remarkable ship and crew.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for your kind words, guys!
It's good to see that more projects are progressing these days. I certainly wait for more netries every days!
Hi, Scott!
You certainly made a good choice, buying that kit. I am certain you'll ave as much fun as I did! I didn't read that particular book, as I have a choice of German texts on the High Sea Fleet's BCs including Goeben. Does the book have pics?
Make sure you come back to me, if you have questions and let me know, if the shipping, service and all went well with NNT.
Cheers,
Guido

Hi Guido, I ordered the SMS Goeben from Pacific Front Hobbies here in the U.S. My order is supposed to ship today. Ich brauche eine zuverlässige Verbindung in Deutschland mein freund. (is Verbindung the appropriate word for "connection" in this context?)
This is the book on the SMS Goeben that I'm reading. Pretty exciting stuff, I'm just about to begin the chapter covering the first operations of the Goeben and the Breslau under the Turkish flag.... the attack on the Russian ships and naval yards in the Black Sea. This is going to be a good lunch hour.

Looks sweet! Ummmm... Aren't there supposed to be white circles painted on top of the foreward and upper aft turrets? Or was this just on Moltke?
