Yep....time for my monthly check up with everyone. I just thought I would see how everyone is coming with their projects. This time of year I know there are other things taking place that usually puts our hobby on the back burner.

Here is my monthly motivator!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!

Hey Randy,

Hopefully will make a start on the Cereberus over the Christmas break. I can do stuff on it between steps of the 'Showboat'..

Merry Christmas Everyone.

Hi Warren. Thank you for the Christmas wishes. I hope that you had a good one. I hope that you were able to get some modeling time in as well. If not, you still have 366 days left to finish up your project.

I hope that everyone had a good Christmas and I wish you the best in the upcoming New Year.

Hi there Randy.
I had heaps of modelling time over Christmas but spent it all on the USS North Carolina that I finally finished last night.
Hopefully I may get a start on the Cerberus very soon. I have ended up with two of the kits so I may put one up for sale as I can't see myself doing two of them.
Cheers
Warren

No problem Warren. I was just doing my monthly motivator. I wasn't sure if there was anyone still interested in the campaign or not. There are still 10 months left in this one so there isn't any kind of a time crunch or anything.

Thanks,
Randy

Hi Everyone.

I finished the Gambier Bay today and now I am going to build the HMVS Cereberus in 1/350 scale from Kombrig.
I actually have two of these (don't ask why) and actually did something on the first one today..

Sorry the first photo is on its side. I washed all the parts in soapy water and put them aside to dry. The planking on the deck is fine to my eyes. Don't think a wooden deck is available for this old girl so I am just going to have to paint it.
This is going to be my first resin ship kit so it may get interesting.
By the way, does anyone want the otherkit for a bargain price?

As requested by Commodore Harv..

This is Combrig's 1/350 HMVS Cerebrus. My first resin ship and pretty easy to build. Only problem was lack of reference pictures but that is OK as the instructions are pretty good!

Well everyone.....I am to the point where I think that I will end this campaign earlier than the actual finish date. I extended it an additional 14 months and there have only been two of us that finished an entry and there has not been any interest or participation lately. So I think I will run it until the end of this month and then end it.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you,
Randy

Don't worry about it John. I will leave the campaign open. After I placed my post I got to thinking later about your project and thought about having my post deleted. I had just thought that everyone had lost interest. So I will leave it open so that you can finish. Your work has been great so far so I don't want to cheat you out of finishing it.

So....disregard my previous post everyone. No cancellation planned.

Thanks,
Randy

Greetings!!

THANK YOU for not cancelling this group build! I'm still planning on building the ISW 1/350 Katahdin, and possibly finishing up the Wyoming BM-10, too. I haven't posted in a long time, but it's certainly not through a lack of interest. I've kept up on the posted updates, but haven't had the heart to build lately.

As I posted on the Ships of the Soviet Union forum, I haven't been building due to the passing of my father. We lost him a few months ago after a 3 year fight against cancer. He was the one responsible for my love of history and ship modeling. This GB, and the others, are helping to put "Life" back into me!

My first steps back were to complete the Alfa for the Soviet Ships group. I'm now turning my attention to the Vietnam GB, Scapa Flow, WW I, a Cruiser GB on another site, and, finally, this Ironclads GB. It looks like I'll have the last 4 months of the year to build Katahdin and finish the Wyoming.

My apologies for "losing track" of things. I'll try to stop in to comment and encourage those who post Progess pics.

Have fun...and go hug your Loved Ones!

Daniel

You're welcome Daniel. I guess I really jumped the gun on thinking about ending it early. I just thought that everyone had lost interest and so I didn't see the need to keep it going. I am glad you are still interested in it.

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I can relate, I lost my father to cancer as well. He battled it for 10 to 12 years...maybe even more. My condolences to you and your family.
