The ship I saw on TV was carrying one of those jack up rigs. It sank as well, but on purpose..

If anyone else would like to watch it it is Here.

I would very nearly commit murder for a model of one of these ships. Unfortunately they are not available.

There's a scratch build challenge in there Julian

I actually considered that Russell, all you really need is a line plan and a general arrangement plan, both of which can be bought from the Tug Museum in Maassluis. Just too much bother though

Hi Guys,
I have been following this thread for some time and am enjoying the great work and friendly banter. I have not said much as I have not had anything to add.

Cheers Rob.

So the parts are finaly one the way. If I can get the workers at the dry dock to hustle, I might be able to finish by the dead line. Now who do I have to pay off at the dock.

Hey Al, feeling better, thanks.
Hey Daneil, will keep an eye open for my personal mine the crew has orders to blast it at distance with care.
Spent last night working on the tubes, of course I broke off the eye bolts on the loading end trying to clean off the mold lines. Crazy glue can be a good friend there . Will have the deck on by tonight. I figure that I'll build her straight out to meet the dead line. Then after sea trials I'll give her a re-fit with all the extra goodies. Lots of deck guns and ammo bins and of course the forward 20 m.m. with the splinter shield and radar. Twin and single Vickers are on the way so look out s-boats and mines . Still have to order my Grandt line bolts for the tubes.
Question, did British crews ever put art work on the boats like the Americans? Would be a nice color touch and personalization. Forgot with all the time waiting for the parts, I'd better sign on board for the campaign!

I spent a good deal of time reading over the post here yesterday, and today made the first modification on the Vosper. Cut out the engine room hatch. Have added a floor and some supports to keep it from warping, and have to add 3 partial engines too, but for what you will see it will look good. This is really enjoyable. I had hit one of those build blocks and this got me right out of it.

Vosper question here guy's. Italeris Vosper kit; the forward hatch goes to what? I have been through every book I have or borrowed and no pure answer. I am hoping that it is a moring line storage locker. What ever it goes to, if it was a locker, would it just be ribs and outer skins or finished off with an interior finish? And would the lines (IF a locker) be just lowered in by hand or coiled up?

Ventilation hatch I think. The rope was normally just chucked on the deck from what I can see..

I am pretty sure that if it was left on deck it would be lashed down securely, one thing you don't want is your mooringlines getting washed overboard and tangled in the screws.
