Hello Julian, You're off to a good start and I'll be following along. Looks to be an interesting build. Your missus must be as understanding and tolerant as mine. Though her first question now isn't how much will it cost, but how big is this one!

It's been my experience with women that you're never winning, just holding your own. It's kinda like bull riding in a rodeo, you hang on for dear life as long as you can and hope you don't get gored!

Hi Honey, is that a Bismarck in your pants, or are you just really, really happy to see me?

Thanks Russell, you Liberty turned out a genuine masterpiece, really excellent.
Thank you Mr Sallows
yours really is one impressive build. I pointed out how big these kits are to Mrs E& there was a pause and then "the look" us mere males all know too well
Equally as impressive as your 1/200 builds is the fact you've been able to get Mrs Gremlin's approval

Julian, first off, I have followed other builds and I am amazed at your talent. One question, (trying to learn from a pro)Why wouldn't you paint the grey, then mask off and paint the red over it?

Hi Darrell,
You could do it that way round too. This is just my brand of fuzzy logic

Of course there is the camouflage to figure into the masking and painting,

Yes, spilling a jar of the stuff didn't really help though
And I succesfully dropped the Hornet too while trying to catch the jar

Only damaged the rudder though so that was a quick fix.....................

On opening the latest post and flicking down I thought OH DAM !! he's spilt the paint now I realise its Camo LOL

Looking good . . . . did you use the masking fluid to get the peeling paint along the bow waterline.

Looks like its melting doesn't it ?
Yes, peeling paint is done by applying masking fluid with a sponge. Still needs some work but the base is there.
