I had some technical difficulties with the camera, I'll get my photos in the gallery when I get home from work tonight.
Thanks

Kirk,
No problems. Will be on the look out for your photos.
Joseph - thanks for the comments. It was a great campaign and I look forward to doing another campaign soon.
Thank you everyone for participating in this campaign. It was my first as an administrator and I believe it was a great success. Everyone did a great job and it was a pleasure building with you. I look forward to participating in many more campaigns in the future.
I will award the ribbons today.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Dave

Joseph,
Saw your gallery photos. Amazing work. Your rigging is outstanding. That is a weak area for me. Great job and I'm glad you enjoyed the Campaign. Was great having you along.

Hi All,
Well here are some photos of the completed IJN Maya. Apologize for the dark exposure, still working on finding a good picture taking location in my house.
After numerous attempts to complete the rigging I finally gave up, that was after ripping the masts off twice. I will reengage at a later time and mount her to a water base. But for now I need to move on to other projects so at this point she is complete.
thanks for all the support during this build. There were some trying times.
Hope you enjoy.

Karl,
Nice job on the F6F. How is the quality of the Eduard Kit?
Thanks for participating in the campaign. I will award you your ribbon in a moment.

Thanks for a very interesting campaign. Although after seeing some of the masterpieces built for it I have been considering moving to "Snaptite" kits to better reflect my skill level.
I find the Eduard kits to be good quality, whether it is the plain basic plastic weekend edition, their standard profipack which include photoetch and masks, or their very popular limited editions. This particular kit I found the decals to stick like glue the instant they touched the model. This kit has decals produced by Eduard rather than Cartograph who produced the decals in all the other Eduard kits I have built. Those other kits I found the decals to work much better (this one they worked fine as long as you got the placement perfect when you slid the decal onto the model!!!). The next project I have to complete is to build an Eduard kit for the Fixed Gear campaign on Aeroscale. I'm trying to clear out my campaigns early next year as I want to participate in the Sink the Bismarck campaign here and want to allow time for it.
Thanks Again

Karl,
LOL, I have thought about switching to snaptite kits on several occasions, especially with the members around here. Very skilled individuals that I learn from each and every day.
Your F6F is awesome. Nice job in such a short period of time. The Maya took me 13 months to complete.
Glad you joined the campaign and I awarded you your ribbon.
If I missed anyone please let me know.

hello all- and i suppose good bye
i thought i would send in the last couple of campaign shots along with a brief summary.
firstly- thanks to everyone for their comments, support and all around general good-naturedness.
a particular thanks to dave for putting this whole thing together- its my first time doing a group build like this and i had a blast.
secondly- the fujimi kit of the yamashiro was a very good one despite several alignment/ fit issues along the way- this is in part due to the outrageous number of photo etch pieces i used. i have learned a lot- both from observing other peoples builds and struggling through my own.
i had to give up on the rigging as the plastic masts are simply not strong enough to withstand the tension (however slight)- that is disappointing to say the least- so i think i will end up replacing the masts with metal and solder at a later date.
i am also missing my rear-most main guns- misplaced somewhere during the family move- i have searched high and low but for the life of me can't find the darn thing- it will turn up eventually.
there are always more details that can be added to these kits- i still have to apply the stencils to the aircraft for example- and i will, but again at a later date along with a couple renegade staircases and davits....
i will also build a custom oak base to support and encase the the one she sits in now. then the brass nameplate etc.
i will post those photos when time permits.
she may not win any awards, but here she is in her basically finished state. i am happy and can't believe a year has passed us by already. i hope my participation and effort to date merit a ribbon dave!!
