Si,
Your air wing is looking good. Not sure I could do half as good a job with those clear plastic planes.
Looking forward to seeing them loaded on the carrier and ready for flight ops

Thanks Dave,
I am not a fan of clear plastic aircraft, they are way more trouble than they are worth. The panel lines are too deep, the plastic very brittle making the small parts difficult to handle.
Meantime I am getting there with these little monsters. I am treating them like a larger scale aircraft kit, the decals will go on before adding the undercarriage and other bits and pieces.
I have some Trumpy Hellcats and Avengers on order, if they reach me before the cruiser campaign starts they will get added as well, otherwise I have something else in mind for them.
Cheers

On with the airwing.
Well with a slight diversion.
The final two Mk 51 sprayed black, whilst I was doing Borodino's guns.

The aircraft were sprayed with Tamiya TS13 clear fro decaling, also brightens the canopies.

The wing decals on, and coated with Micro flat, I found on the aircraft I built for the hangers and the lifts the decals did not adhere well.

The sprues, small parts being painted.

Heading up into the workshop shortly to get some more work done on these.
Cheers.

Thanks Dave and Todd,
They are coming on, did get up into the workshop today, but a touch of the yips and just couldn't get on with anything.
Thank you very much for the offer Dave, but I have tracked down some trumpy aircraft. Whether I add some extras for on here or save them for my next carrier project I haven't made my mind up yet, with both lifts down the deck does look busy with only eight aircraft, plus the tractors.
Need to get some wee men painted as well.
Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated.

Small update,
A bit more work on the Airwing.

Aircraft put on deck for safe keeping, props still need a touch of paint on the tips and the hub.

Hi all, I hope I've posted these correctly. Using Imgur. I'm building a 1:700 USS California (BB 44) as she fought in the Battle of Surigao Strait on 24 Oct 1944. In #3 turret that day was S1C John Montgomery, my grandfather. I'll be privileged to present the completed model to him on his 90th birthday in August.

Thanks Dave,
Nearly there with the Airwing. prop details painted and just the folded wings to be added.

And added, and sat on the deck, there is a reason for the hellcat's wing half sticking out.

The reason id the bloke with his short off, he should just fit with a couple of other chaps unfold the wing,

Si, like the story telling with the wee men. How do you like the L'arsenal figures?

Thanks Dave,
Well when I saw that figure, I wanted a use for him, so I needed something to use him for.
The L'Arsenal figures are very well cast, but the way they are mounted on the casting blocks make them tricky to use, and they are incredibly fragile.
They are worth the effort though.

Now is there a way to size photos so I'm not tying up so much monitor space?

Here is my entry for this campaign. I am building the Eduard Weekend Edition kit 8434 of the F6F-5 in 1/48. This kit portrays an aircraft from the battle of Leyte Gulf.

Huck,
It worked and we can now see the pictures. Your USS California is looking great. Amazing the level of detail that can be included on such a small scale. Looking forward to watching you progress through this build.
Karl,
Welcome aboard. It is good to see a wingy thingy added to the mighty colection gathering in this campaign. Looking forward to watching as you progress through your build.
Toa all, great work on everyones part and I think that everyone would agree that we are all looking forward to seeing your progress.
thanks

I hit a snag. Masking the Measure 32 camo on the port side the medium tore off some hatches and railings.

At least I started with the side away from the viewer when the diorama is complete.

On with the Indy, Aircraft arranged on deck, apologies to Carrier purists, I have a feeling this is too chaotic and wrong.

Wing being unfolded on s Hellcat

Figures directing the TBM being towed. (out of shot, but it is the one with the wings folded.)

Hi all,
Here's a BB 44 update. Sustained some minor PE damage with masking the Measure 32 camo. I'll go back and reattach the superstructure elements, rails and hatches after the camo's complete. In the meantime, presssing on pressing on.
