Gentlemen,
thank you so much for all your kind comments - that's most appreciated and overwhelming!!
It was really great fun to share this build with you all here on the MSW, and all your comments, encouragement and support during the build were a great help, especially when I was losing motivation over some weeks last year. So you all had your fair share in finishing my REPULSE, thanks for that once more!!
After a short inspirational break (cleaning and reorganizing the shipyard, and of course, some real life stuff to include 'spring sweepers' of the living place that's somehow build around the shipyard, I am looking forward very much to starting the build of HMS BELFAST and sharing it with you here in due time!
And, as promised, I will post pictures of my two 1/350 Force Z units - but I have to ask for a little patience , right now both ships are separated by some 350 km, and REPULSE is just working up her engines...
Cheers

Thank you Bernd
Now I promised some picture of HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of Wales sailing side by side. I took some pics that I share with you, but I have to come up with a better way to display my Force Z and take pictures, the results here are not exactly what I was trying to achieve. But better the nothing for starters...
So I don't have a photo booth (maybe should get one some time), and if I had one, it would certainly be to small for both ships together. So I have to think and try a little - I should be able to come up with better pictures sooner or later
Cheers

Jan,
Words escape me, just fantastic work on both ships. Seeing them together you can imagine them as they were coasting through the South Pacific awaiting contact with the Imperial Japanese Navy. Great work
Regarding pictures, I stole an idea from Todd and started using plain white poster board. Gives a nice clean white background without creases
Just an idea.
Dave

Fantastic work Jan!
Great to see these two 'tragic' ships together again!
Now, we just need the kit makers to release their escorts in styrene and a full force Z could be put together
For photographing, if you can source some large sheets of white (or blue) paper (A0) what I Suggest is pinning them so that half is vertical (against a wall for example) and the other half of the sheet is on the flat surface. This will provide a nice back drop for your subjects. No need for spending money on a photo booth
Hope this helps...

Dave, Russ and Michael,
thank you very much for your kind comments and suggestions!
Indeed, that A0-size white paper could be a good solution, didn't think about that. And now need to find somebody who sells paper that size...some years back that was far more common, but nowadays most of this shops offering paper, cardboard, pens,...for artwork have gone out of business...well, no hurry with this one, but I should find something and then get some better pictures of Force Z (big ships). And Russ, I agree, it would be great to see some of the smaller companions in 1/350 and plastic....
Cheers,

All,
here's my next attempt to do a little gallery with HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse as they would steam side by side in the south east asian sea. Two evil flying things already on the horizon
This time I used the larges sheet of paper I could get hold of, combined with blue and white bedsheets... Probably you just need lots of space to get it right for two models of this side, but I like the results better than my first approach - enjoy!
Cheers,
