Great use of the lego Micheal-looks like a real ship yard!

The next task is the detailing of the main deck. I will start at the bow and work to the stern part after part....

Starting with the small mast for the flag at the bow (brass parts and etched parts), the anchor chains (two sizes) and the anchors, then the first two paravane booms on both sizes. Two more follow at the stern. I have decided to show it folded out as it looks much more interesting.

A small detail on the mast at the bow - a folded etched "Hakenkreuz" on the top of the mast ....

Now you are approaching the finish line - great for you, for me it's almost sad to realize that soon there will be no updates on this project any longer...

Now addid the first railings on the main deck. Using the 2chain railings from north star model which is more realistic then the ones from Pontos or trumpeter.

I am thinking about some final ideas at the moment.... and I wonder what you think about it ....

Figures ... I have a package of 1/200 resin figues from North Star Models, together with German leader A. Hitler... thinking about placing them on the deck as it could be seen on several pictures, Hitler walking in front of the Bismarck-crew ..... Or no figures on deck..... What do you think?

Also thinking about adding the stairways on the side of the hull... or without ...... What do you think?

I think the figures would add a great touch as would the stairs.

Colin Swager a leading New Zealand ship modeller and a member of this forum incorporated figures on one of his recent builds (including ships cat) and it was a superb touch IMHO.

First, the are not enough words to clearly express how impressive your work is...truly amazing.

As far as the figures and side stairs, I have to agree that it would add another dimension to the story being told by your build. I would vote a yes to both.

All the handrails around the maindeck are installed. I used the ones by North Star Models instead of the kit- parts or Pontos parts, which are both not correct. After that I placed the stairs on the side of the hull. Made of PE-parts, painted in brown, grey and gold...

Once more absolutely amazing work and great effects!! The stairs look great, they really add to the whole model.

I do like the idea of having a part of the crew assembled on the quarterdeck - however, I would leave out that one single person. Maybe I'm pre-occupied, but in that case I can live with it...

... And one last update, before the final fotos for the gallery could be made

The stairways are finished, painted and mounted. Also some further add-on parts on the maindeck. The flaggs (fabric) are formed with white-glue and water mix, then glued to the masts with super glue.

The display was painted in palisander and clear coat.... then the name plates follow on both sides.

Generally speaking - that's it..... most of the work is done, just some reworks to be done, which I will note during the next days I think ..

it is done .... here we go and finish this project today.... finally, the Bismarck is finished!
