I have to admit I had lost the love for this project a bit, but chatting to a mate of mine from IPMS Barnet at the Telford show re-inspired me. That and the purchase of an optivisor so I can see the bits of the single 20mm.

Progress this week.
The main mast painted and fitted.
No flag lockers are provided in the kit, or the upgrade, so I used four left over lockers, painted wood brown.
Three out of the four fitted.
Rigging.
The mainmast done, except for a gaff that needs to be added later.

Hi Mark, I would have hoped so, but this was Pontos' first upgrade set, so I am inclined to be forgiving, especially since they have learned since then, and provide them. It was an easy fix too.

All I will say is... More rigging.
Done!
According to my to-do list on this one, anchors, admiral's walk, railings, jack and ensign staffs and radars to go, then the gaff and ensign, and she is done.

Another headache on the final stretch.
The kit anchors, not very satisfactory, there appears to be no way to secure the shank to the flukes. also only two provided, when three required/
I have sourced North Star's British anchors as replacements, hopefully will be delivered early / mid next week. This is turning into a proper British built warship project, it will be delivered late and overbudget! (but not that badly overbudget)
Meantime, the "Admiral's walk", bent to shape.
and fitted.
The awning was sourced from the White Ensign fret. The kit appears to represent the ship around the time of Husky, when she was not serving as a Flagship, photograph of the ship at that time show the awning looking a bit shabby, I have tried to replicate that.
Hawse covers in place.
First railings on.
Forecastle deck level railings done.

Appreciate your kind comment, she was on of the finest Battleships to come out of a British Yard. The original plan was to have her finished for Telford. Dependant on the delivery of the Anchors, I would hope to have her finished within the next week or so.

well the deck of the walk was a grating, open railings round the perimeter, the awning would be stowed. Guess the seas went straight through it. I don't doubt a few things got bent out of shape from time to time.

Almost there.
ladders down to the Quarterdeck fitted.
Quarterdeck railings in place,
The Pontos jack and ensign staffs built.
The tripod sections still need folding at this point.
Jack staff fitted.
and ensign staff.
work is now halted, awaiting the arrival of some Anchors.
Final push soon.... I hope.
