Not the first time I have had this problem for sure Russ,

Generally I love the ease with which Pontos inclined ladders fold, however does make the fragile to handle, I think I am going to have make to template for the width of these ladders that go through holes, less chance of an untidy finish.

The progress for this weekend was mostly with the paintbrush.

Camo on the bridge structure.

Are you going to go back and add the missing Orlikon tub that sits between the 2 that are there?

Hi Si!

Great to have you back with your usual pace on several subjects in parallel! Great work, Warspite is an all time favorite of mine, and I have her sitting in the stash and waiting for better (modeling) times along with the Pontos set.

Very nice progress indeed mate!

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan,

She is a great looking ship, always remember building the old Airfix kit when I was a kid, still love her.

One piece of advise, a decent magnifying glass will come in very handy to hep with the Pontos instructions.

Thanks Mike.

Same to you mate, not quite done for 2017 yet, might manage the odd cheeky session in the workshop.

This weekend's update to come when the camera battery has charged.

A little progress between Christmas preparations.

The middle 20mm tubs on B gun deck, enhanced with etch.

Test fitted, very neat indeed.

and finally painted, fixed in place and camo'd.

B gun deck and the hanger in place, the mounts for the 40' derricks on the after end of B Gundeck have been fitted, along with the railings and carley floats to the hanger.

The railings and a couple of other bits came from the WEM set, which is very good, and contains a few bits & peices of etch that Pontos does not. (and of course vice versa)

Cheers and Merry Christmas to all!

Cheers Russ, same to you mate.

I have given the boys a few days off, having a sneaky day off work on the 27th in an attempt to get a quiet day in the shipyard.

Here's to a great year of modelling in 2018.

Si you are a ship making fool. Looking good, I finally delved a bit into the Texas with the pontos set, not too intimidating if you do it in sub assemblies. Still following along. Looking great as usual.

Thanks Norman,

Always glad to have along, The set for the Texas is rather good, but then this ship making fool is a bit of a sub assembly merchant.

Have a great Christmas mate!

Wit a bit of luck, should be back with a final update of the year after Chistmas.

Just managed to grab a sneaky couple hours in the workshop, only a small progress, but something.

Railings on the boat deck / pompom deck.

Work started on the funnel, the lower two platforms, along with the supports test fitted.

Final fittings on the boat / pompom deck and finally fixed down.

New year weekend is looking like very little chance of escaping to sanctuary of the workshop, so Happy New Year to all.

Cheers

Thanks Mark,

It is aided by the fact the Pontos etch wants to bend in the right place.

Appreciate you looking in.
