The certainly do, no issues with seams or mould lines, and crisoer detail, and better muzzle depth.

Very small update, but busy times.
Work has started on two of the boats.
The completed boat is a 45' motor boat and the other is the Admiral's barge.

Yesterday's progress.
Scratchbuilding the missing mushroom vents.
A fine crop has sprouted.
Fitted, and with the turret put in place to check nothing is fouling it.
after that bit of excitement back to the boats.
Two large motor launches.
surgery on the underside.
The cradles and deck on.
On these boats part of the kit deck is used, the actual kit part and the bit used.
Ran out of time to get any further, more on the boat saga soon.

Bit more boats I'm afraid.
The two big motor boats done, and the cabins on the Admiral's barge, although the deck is not fixed down yet.
The basic paint job on the three big boats.
Finally, something that really feels like progress, the three biggies with a wash and drybrush here and there, and fitted in place.
Still quite a bit of paintwork to be done on the barge, so on with some 20mm tubs on the catapult deck.
A bit of a throwback to a 70's cocktail party, but the cocktail stick through the hole in the centre makes the resin part easier to work with.
All six with doors and ready use boxes fitted, ready for a coat of 507c

Nice to have etch to go with the finer resin tubs from the pontos set. Academy do provide the moulded on boxes on their tubs, which I will be using on the main turrets.

Today's progress,
finally remembered to take the catapult down for spraying, along with the 20mm tubs.
All fitted in places.
I know it is probably not right for 1943, but the Admiral's barge done and fitted, it does add a little colour

The cranes were a delight to build. They looked rather intimidating in the instructions but went together really really well.
The 20mm's were vexing to say the least but I got them done....eventually.
I shall not talk about the pom-poms. Still get nightmares about them.

I am glad the cranes work well, I have had a few nightmares with those.
I learned a lesson on the 20mm and the pompoms on the Duke of York. The trick I found was a very gentle twist o two with a fine round file on the holes in the cradle, so it fitted on the pedestal properly. I did have a few issues with pompoms mostly getting all the folds on the base right. we shall see this time.

She’s coming along really well, I just built Pom poms for the Belfast. Flyhawk Pom poms were really nice. Very tedious with the soldering iron but get it done. Can’t wait for next update.

These pompoms are Pontos' first attempt, using the breach section from the kit parts, with etched base, ammo boxes, sights and turned barrels. Re thinking the plan a bit, might be worth getting the rest of the 20mm tubs down first, which will mean finishing the main armament too.

This weekend has not been conducive with modelling.
Before starting the 20mm it seemed a good idea to get all the tubs in place, so here are the other three main turrets.
