Hey guys,
Jeopardy Trivia has become really popular and fun on both AeroScale and Historicus Forma.
With all salty dogs we have here, why don't we give it a go. I'll start off.
Name this class of ship and it's purpose. Extra credit if you can name the ship itself.
The way this is played, the first one with a correct answer gets to ask the next question.

Could it be the USS Liberty intelligence ship that was attacked by Israel?

Some detailed photos when the ship was in service.
Augie, you're getting warmer.

Do you have another picture of it. The other ships make it difficult to clariy her lines. Could you also give us a clue as to general era...my reference only goes up until 1946. As to modified Liberty ships, I know they did do an attack transport version called the Haskell class Oh-oh....I feel another modification coming on. Well into the books now gotta see how I can modify the Jerimiah kit into something other than a cargo ship

I think I have it now. It's the USS Searcher. She was placed into service on 5 February 1945 as the Liberty Ship SS James W. Wheeler. Commissioned 2 April, 1955 as YAGR-4 and reclassified 28 September 1958 as AGR-4. She was decommissioned on July 1, 1965 and scrapped August 7, 1970.

Ok,, let's try this bit of obscure trivia.
What ship was in a collision with the SS Empire Chamois and suffered extensive damage to her bow during WWII during a convoy form-up?

Jellicoe and Beatty were the original names. There was too much controversy over the names - especially Jellicoes - so they were changed, I think even before they were ordered.

Ok...took me awhile to think of a decent question. It's a two part question:
What was the original name assigned to CV-19 and why was it changed?

Ironically Hancock and Ticonderoga reversed names, with Ticonderoga originally being laid down as Hancock, and Hancock beng originally laid down as Ticonderoga. As to why, I have no idea, other than good old Navy thinking. :-)

Well, I know she was the fourth United States vessel of five to be named after the Revolutionary era Fort in upper state New York...
