Gold Medal Models has recently discontinued some of their 1/350 and 1/700 decal sets. As these decal sets dwindle down in inventory they will not be replaced with another run. Read more.

Gold Medal Models has been in operation since the summer of 1985 and they have been creating decals and Photo Etch items for Model Ship builders since then and in 1992 they added N and HO scale railroad items as well. They currently produce both photo etch and decals for various scale ship models, focusing mainly on US Naval subjects. They have recently discontinued a few decal sets specifically the 1/350 US Naval CVN set, the 1/350 USN Hi Viz aircraft and the 1/700 Naval Ship sets. Owner Loren has decided to discontinue these due to the high cost and manufacturing numbers required to produce these sets. As set supplies are run down, GMM will continue to discontinue other items.

They are currently producing some really brilliant PE sets for some of the older USN sets from the 70’s and 80s, such as the 1/540 (or whatever it was) USS Forestal/Essex/Midway. This set includes airwing details, aircraft cranes, screws, and other detail items that these old kits are seriously lacking. They have plenty for the 1/350 scale and much more including their newly released 1/350 Indianapolis set, as well as other scales, including 1/400, 1/600. 1/700 as well. GMM even offers a model ship builders handbook for those that are new to scale model ship building.

GMM offers orders ordering through their website, but not in the traditional sense. While they can take Paypal payments, they can only do so in excess of $100. GMM products are available through various other online retailers as well, but if you are on the west coast of the USA, it would be just as easy to order direct.
