Gold Medal Models has proven themselves to be one of the top photo etch manufacturers for ship models of all scales. Always staying up to date with the latest releases, they work hard to help model shipwrights dress up their favorite kits. With the new 1/350 IJN Takao in stores, Gold Metal Models is proud to announce the upcoming release of their 1/350 IJN Takao Photo Etch Set. The release date and retail price have yet to be announced.

This set contains custom fitted and detailed main deck and upper deck railings featuring a "drooped chain" appearance. In addition to the weather deck railings, GMM also supplies the modeler with additional railings in several other styles with some sections pre-sized and pre-shaped to fit upper decks, and others offering a choice of simulated canvas coverings for searchlight platforms, etc. The set contains pre-sized rails for the tops of the main gun turrets. Moving to the Takao’s search aircraft, we find two pairs of midship aircraft catapults in two different styles with full interior detailing, aircraft trolleys with shuttles in two styles and struts, propellers, & other details for all ship's aircraft types. The aircraft & boat crane is detailed with rigging and hook, and the ships boats are completed with chocks, rails, & other details. For the 25mm antiaircraft guns, the kit provides operators' seats, gunsights, & controls. To complete superstructure, three radars of two types, pre-shaped and precisely-fitted maintenance footrails and funnel cap grilles for the funnels, correctly-detailed replacement forward funnel brace structure and accurately detailed yardarms are all included. Rounding out the kit is the usual assortment of vertical and inclined ladders, watertight doors, cable reels, eyebolts, turnbuckles, boat davit rigging, and many other fittings.
