With the final countdown to Christmas the good folks at Gold Medal Models have been extra busy and have announced another new photoetch set the1/350th Slava Photoetch set .This set will available at the end of December 2009 and the retail price has yet to be advised.
We understand that this set is primarily designed to configure the Trumpeter kit into any version of the Russian Salva class guided missile cruiser.
We understand that this set has been designed to be exceptionally user-friendly, especially in relation to the design and assembly of the extremely complex Russian radars and mast platform assemblies. A minimal parts count combined with a reduced need to glue parts together and GMM's unique "tab-and-slot" construction results in a user friendly PE set.
This set supplies highly accurate replicas of all air search, surface search, and fire control radars carried by the various ships of this class including the Top Pair, Top Steer, Top Plate, Pop Group, Front Door, and Palm Frond radars together with the ECM and direction finding antennas.

It looks like the folks at Gold Medal Models do not rest on their laurels as we understand that their next PE item will be for the 1/350 Repulse by Trumpeter followed by sets for the new WW2 German Armored and Heavy Cruiser kits now becoming available.
