Hi Alan

You are right on the commanding officer eye issue - if we can spot the white from "here" than there's something that needs to be corrected
Apart from this, I like the composition on this LC

It's good that you found a cheap table to place the dio - the fact that it is bigger it will have the possibility for the LC's to be with a good distance amongst them, making it more real!
Looking forward to further developments

Hi Skipper and Bruce,

Thanks for the support folks.Yip Skipper, just wanted to make sure his face has had a good time to dry before I do any more.

The new table should work well. When I planned the original Pier dio it was based on the size of the Italeri Landing Craft and the boats being moored up side by side, of course the Trumpeter kits are slightly bigger and it's grown a bit since then.

A bigger sea area would work better and a slight increase in size of the pier end of the dio would also be really good. I haven't given up on the idea of the X Craft either at least not yet lol, lol

I have still quite a bit of work to do on the trucks, proper markings, loads for the back and drivers, well at least one inside although the other crews are done.

Bruce what's next, good question, I need to finsih off the lighthouse and get the windows replaced, I have the D7 Armoured Dozer waiting to build for the Nan Red project and the Canteen Van for the Pier dio both washed and ready to go but not yet started. More figures, I've started on the 2 policemen and have to do some WRVS ladies for the canteen van and there is the 2nd good wagon as well.

Doing all the figs for the boats was a lot of work and a big learning curve but then most of my builds are

While I'm in carrier mode I have 2 old kits I started to upgarde months ago so I will add new tracks for them and finish strapping the stowage but that shouldn't take too long once I get going.

I might try a few seagulls for fun, Berek Barton made me some so that should be interesting lol, lol.

Lots to do, I hope to do some test runs using water in the summer and might be in a position to lay the foundations of the Pier dio in the autumn. Time will tell, no hurry, lots to do, lots to learn.

Hi Bruce,

Nothing new to report. Had a few days rest lol, lol. Working on some Policemen at the moment and a couple of desert tankers. A few things still to do on the LCM, repaint the skippers jumper, look out some numbers for the wheelhouse, source a new anchor etc, etc

I had a busy week this week and didn't get much done. Not sure I have the energy to start the 3rd boat right now, probably need a break so will do some armour and try to get a few of the other kits for the Pier finished off. I have another 15 infantry to do for this one and then some wounded troops.

Just having a pause. I have some tools to add to the carriers and some shipping decals to add so plenty to keep me occupied.

These are the Carriers so far

and the Policemen for the Pier still a WIP and behiind them the Fishermans hut which hasn't moved on much.

Just so you know I'm not slacking

Cheers

Thanks Guys,

Bruce, Yip work - what a kicker, still something has to pay for all this. James, glad you enjoyed the LC update.

I was going top let this thread die a natural death, it's been around for a long time .

When I get the final small bits done on the LCM and carrier I'll post a few pics to finish it off.
Today I'm going to the bank and shopping for plant pots

Hi Bruce,

I'm glad you enjoyed it. As I said I'll post some final pics when I get the last of the work done on the LCM.

I though the Loads for the LC's would take me about 3 months but it's taken a bit longer given the amount of stuff that need to be done.

When I start the load for the 3rd boat I'll probably start a new thread and I'll keep you posted of any developments either on the Nan Red project or the Pier dio.

I've started work on the commander for the 2nd vehicle although I need to find a suitable head for him. If I get a quiet and productive day tomorrow I might get the rear of the LCM finished, we shall see lol, lol.

Thanks for all your support and ideas, they always help. I have a really busy couple of months ahead at work so I shall just plod along as time and money permit.

Cheers

Hi bruce,

Here you go. Last of the pics. I've added a number, removed the large anchor which I will replace with a small version and popped in Pete's commander to see how he looked in the wheelhouse. The RM berets are very shinny but given the number of times they have been on and off the boat I'm not surprised, that's a quick fix.

A little work is needed on the cyclinders, the tops of which I painted white.

If anyone has any comments. thoughts opr suggestions now would be a good time as I'm considering this one done less the above fixes.

Cheers

Good looking stuff Alan.

Here's a bit of trivia for y'all. If you look closely enough, you will recognize the beachmaster from "The Longest Day" as Cmdr. Shepperd from "Sink the Bismarck."

Hi Alan

Good to see another one close to get finished!
A few comments:
- The cylinders should have some chips, particularly on the white part (near the colour edge);
- I really enjoyed the way you disposed the figurines on the LC - it makes it look so real
- I also like the police men, but shouldn't they be a little older? Some mustaches could make them look older
- The carriers look excellent!

Please keep us posted
It's always a pleasure to see your work

Cheers,
Rui

Hi folks,

Thanks for the feedback, very much appreciated. I've done the berets and boots and will fix the figures over the next few days. Cylinders have been dealt with and I now have a headless commander for the 2nd carrier.

Hopefuly come the weekend I can raise the flag pole on this one. 2 down one to go.

Cheers guys.

Hi Guys,

Bruce I put some updates in the Constructive feedback forum over on Armorama. Here's the link.

http://armorama.kitmaker.net/forums/117704&page=1

Only awaiting the small replacement anchor for the LCM 3. Used the old skipper form the LCM as the 3rd Crew member on the LCA, with some new sea boots. Managed to fix the build error on the 1st carrier too.

Hi Bruce,

Your welcome. I have a post running about damaged boats, I want to see what other possibilities there are for the LCVP.

Cheers
