Hello All,
I forgot that the campaign has started.

I just finished a week in the saddle checking all of the fences that are around my property and I am a bit sore.

I will post a photo of my build some time this week after a long shower and soak and a few days of sleep.
Please remember to post a photo of your build before you restart your build and if you have any questions please ask here in the thread or PM me.
Have a great week,
Cheers,
Bruce

Thanks Joe, all sorted now...I had to change the color pallet to web colors only, make the background a complete transparency, and compress the file to the maximum setting to get the little bugger down below the file size limit...persistence pays off, mate! Ribbon uploaded and ready to rock!

Hi guys...
I'll be rebuilding tamiya's old enterprise cv-6, which i build many many yrs ago...

and my work will start from this pile:

as can be seen, there are quite a bit of stuff to work on! I intend to build her in her late 1942/Santa Cruz version. I will be replacing most of the existing parts, esp the guns, with spares from DML kits. Based on my references, some scratch building may be required on her island... I'll see how things go...
Enjoy your builds!

Hello Lawrence,
Welcome to the campaign. I think we all have a year to get done. It looks like you have some great ideas about that old kit.
I am hoping you will post photos as you do your build, I would like to see how you do it.

 Again, Welcome to the campaign,
Cheers,
Bruce

This campaign should give me the impetuous to finish a couple of builds for earlier campaigns that I never got done. First up, the Pit Road 1/700 Maya, which was for the Leyte Gulf campaign of several years ago.
She's been weathered, I started rigging her tonight:

I also have another Pit Road kit - the 1/700 Amagi 1/2 built. I don't even remember what campaign that was for!!

Despite my horrible campaign completion record, I'm going to enlist in this one. Here is the first I intend to finish. It's the Dragon 1/700 JMSDF Yushio. It is essentially built but needs to be painted (which will hopefully cover the awful first attempt at painting it).

Here's my progress so far... been working on the hull. Nothing much to report here, just filling and sanding. I also added some styrene rods to brace up the structure.

Next I'll be working on the island... will *try* to reproduce it as per Santa Cruz.
Cheers!

Here's the progress on the island for my Enterprise...

Tamiya's island is too narrow; photos of the Enterprise indicates that it should be much wider.... however since rectifying this would require some really major surgery, i have decided to live with it...

i scratch-build the mk33 director on the fore and aft of the island, and added mk4 radar on both of them. I also added SG radar on top of the mast, and SC2 radar on starboard of funnel. All radars are from DML (spares).

Hi Bruce!
Just stumbeled over this campaign, always thought it had something to do with displaying ships in the drydock...

I have the perfect project going on for this, a Tamiya 1/350 Fletcher with GMM fittings. I first started it probably 10 years ago and restarted it mid June of this year so that would fit the time frame. Only problem is that I don't have any pics of before the restart, only as of yesterday before I slapped on a coat of hull red to the underside. Can I enter anyway? Can I, can I, can I?

 Cheers!
Stefan

May I assume no news is good news?

Thought I'd post some pics of before paint so you can see what I'm talking about. Lots to add of course...

Sorry for the bad quality pics, they're the only ones I have...
Cheers!

looks like everyone's off to a good start.
I got a few more little pieces glued down on the PT boat. Only problem was that my bottle of paint had gone bad. Didn't have any gray paint that looked right so I changed its color to green.

Hey guys, great idea for a campaign and some good work going on. I think I've got 3 boats in dry dock somewhere in the stash

I've been fiddling with one of them for over 10 years

Unfortunately, I’ve got too much on my desk right now to tackle them again. Good luck!
