Ok a little update. I got all the main pieces in place and painted. Next I'll be glossing it up and adding the decals.
I also started painting the crew.

Started this when it first came out and set it aside and never went back to it. Now is a good time to finish it.

Hi guys - I just joined this campaign and my planned project is a 1/350 USS Missouri that I built 20 years ago and was seriously damaged in a fall about 10 years ago. It has sat since. For Christmas last year my kids got together and gave me the Eduard PE set and the Yankee Modelworks resin weapons refit. So I have started on it again. Question: how do I post pictures? I have clicked on the "UPLOAD PHOTOS" link at the bottom of the page but get this error "The category you chose for this photo can't contain photos". I am sure it is operator error, but some advice please?
Thanks
Frank

oceano75 I had same problem. I have a photobucket account so I just saved pictures there and then cut & pasted the link in my posts. There might be another way but it was easiest for me.

Finally plucked up the courage to pull the underneath of my workbench apart and recover the Hesperus. A bit of mess unfortunately, and I fear a constructive total loss. Couldn't find A gun at all, or the Fwd Funnel. B Gunshield in bits, X gun barrel gone, one of the quad 0.5" gone, the other one deformed. haven't found the Masts yet.

At the moment I don't have the heart think about a rebuild. maybe at soe time in the future, but to be honest my thoughts are scrap it & buy the WEM HMS Havelock.

Sorry, didn't mean my clumsyness to stun this thread.

I will be looking again at the "self of shame" and pull something else off it and rejoin the fray.

Any progress from anybody else??

Don't have any new pictures at the moment but I'm almost done.
Just a little more painting on the stand and then everything should be ready to get sealed.
Hoping to have it done by Christmas.

Hi Bruce. I just couldn't help but enlist in another of your campaigns!!

Here is the project I want to finish up.

I started this last June to use as a cake decoration for my Relay For Life teams entry in the cake contest. Our teams theme was pirates (obviously). I ended up not using it and I was actually thinking of throwing it away when I decided to enlist in your campaign.

So if it is okay with you this will be my entry.

Hello Randy,
Looks good to me. I have been looking at that kit for a while for a little fun build, So I can follow your build and see if it is worth it or not.

Thanks Bruce. Always glad to be part of one of your campaigns.

One problem I had with the ship when I started it last summer was the hull. There are some gap issues that I will have to deal with. I will also have to scratch-build two crows nests as I used the kit ones for another project as well as some of the flags.

Anyway I should be able to get started on it when I get at least one of my other campaign projects completed. (My entry for your Blitzkrieg 3 campaign!! )

Thanks,

Harv

Hello All,
I have submitted my resign to Mark"Gunny" as Campaign Leader Of Dry-Dock for a number of reason.

On Monday th 10 of Jan. I am going In for a complete Heart Valve Replacement Surgery. I have had in the last few months 3 major and 5-8 minor Heart Attacks and I have tried to put off the surgery till all of my campaign are done here and over at the other sites ( Aeroscale, Armorama), But I had another one this past week and I need to have the surgery done.

I will be in Hospital for 7 to 21 days then to a Rehab Hospital for another 2 to 4 months so there is no way I can do the campaigns at this time.
I Thank all of you for enlisting in the campaign and showing some great work being done here, You all are the Greatest Modelers On the Web In my opinion.

I know You all will support the new Campaign Leader as You did with me.
I hope all of you will have A Safe and Happy New Year both to You and to Your Family.

I will still be around till Sunday if you have any Question you need any answers to,
Cheers,
Bruce

Cheers!

Right, I am back in the fray.

HMS Bentink, K314, Captian class frigate. (Ex USS Bull, DE52). been sat on the side for a while. The Kit is the Trumpeter USS England, backdated & using the GMM etch. I am depicting the ship, still in US Camo & basic fit at the time she was handed over.

This is the modle as she is when I pulled of the shelf yesterday afternoon

Here is in-progress photo #1 of the pirate ship that I decided to finish up.

This is the first time that I have done all of the rigging lines on a ship. Kind of a pain at first but then I got to where I was enjoying myself as I did them.

I haven't decided if I am going to paint it in traditional colors or go with the glow-in-the-dark paint as one of the painting suggestions to make it look like a ghost ship. I guess I will have to flip a coin and go from there.

Thanks,
Randy
