Thank you for the kind comments guys. I really do appreciate them.
As an after thought I wondered if I should have waited to do the rigging after I painted the ship and did all of the detail painting? Oh well, this is a good case of learn as you go!!
Thanks again,
Randy

Hello All,
With the Doc's and Jim's OK I am going to try and take back over this campaign, But I need someone to step froward and take over the post of XO for me. I can only do this part time about 2-4 hours a week with being in Rehab after my stroke after my Heart Surgery. With "Nurse Ratchet" watching I can only use my laptop 1-2 hours a day plus what I can get a way with

.
So any takers? Please let me know,
Cheers,
Bruce

Here is in-progress post #2 of the pirate ship that I am building for this campaign.

I have the detailing and the painting completed. When I painted the red and the yellow it didn't cover all that great and I was going to go back and do a second coat. But once I got to looking I decide that it looked very weathered and I thought that would be appropriate for a pirate ship. So I decided to leave it as it is. I am going to add a coat or two of dullcote next and then add some flags. I don't really care for the decal flags that came with the kit so I am going to make my own of the computer.
Thanks for looking and I should have another update soon.
Randy
PS. I glad you are doing okay Bruce. I don't know diddly about hosting a campaign or being an XO on one but I will be glad to help you out anyway that I can. I hope that your health continues to improve. Randy
Simon, your project is looking good. Keep up the good work.

Hello Randy,
Great Job on your Pirate Ship. Does it glow in the dark?
On being an XO all you do is encourage the builders and make rulings if someone wants to do a build that might be a little outside of the official rules if the Campaign Leader is not around.
On Monday the Doc's are starting me on an experimental drug that may cut my recovery time in half. We shall see.
Thanks for joining up.
Cheers.

Simon, good progress. The Hedgehog looks a bit two-dimansional, any way to beef it up?
Arrr! Nice Pirate ship Randy!

Bruce, good to have you back and glad everything went well. Only just noticed your post here. If you're still in need for an XO I'd be willing to do it.
Cheers!

Pirate ship looking good Harv.
A bit more progress on the Bentink. Hedgehog and breakwater around A gun fitted, along with No,1 deck railings, ladders down to maindeck & davits.

Stefan, I agree the etched hedgehog bombs do look two dimensional, but that is exagerated by the enlargement of the photos, under another couple of coats of paint and in place they look acceptable, especually as they will be hidden from clear head on view, where it shows the most, by A gun.

Hello Randy,
Great Job on your Pirate Ship. Does it glow in the dark?
Thank you Bruce, I appreciate it. it doesn't glow yet but I ordered the glow in the dark spray paint yesterday so hopefully it will work and look decent. I hope you are feeling okay.

Pirate ship looking good Harv.
Thank you Simon. I do appreciate the kind comment.
I have pretty much finished it up with the exception of adding a coat or two of Dull-cote and then adding the glow in the dark paint. I made up a pirate flag and some pennants on the computer this weekend and added them. So just a little more time to add the final touches and it will be finished.
Thanks again,
Randy

Some more progress, the Ship has been based, whe will be depicted at anchor, hence the very calm waters. more maindeck details being added, slowly but surely.

The Water will get several coats of Tamiya clear blue / grean / smoke mix to give the water a "wetter" look.

Well I am going to consider my pirate ship finished.

I sprayed the ship with glow-in-the-dark paint. I tried to take a picture of it but I couldn't get one to turn out. And the glow-in-the-dark paint goofed up the finish on the kit. So I guess that wasn't the best of plans that I had.
Anyway thank you for the campaign Bruce. I hope that you are feeling well.

I have decided to replace the Kit life rafts with voyager models resin / etched offerings. Four of the resin rafts have been cleaned up ready to accept resin nettings and paddles.
