A Bit more progress, adding the crew, The vessel is depicted at anchor, just after hand over to the Royal Navy, anchored at Bermuda being readied to cross the atlantic to be Anclisiced. In preperation the pennant number K314 is being painted on, a couple of seamen ore on a stage over the starboard side doing this and another stage is being prepared to go over the port bow. Other crew members are checking equiment, firtting the depth charge arbours, and of course on anchor watch,

Hope this works. I joined this campaign with the idea of rebuilding a Life Like 1/350 Missouri that fell off a shelf many years ago. I have completed the project and am trying to post pix. Thanks to beefy66 for the durections on how to do this. These are the before pix.

If this worked, I'll post the after pix tomorrow.

If not, the before pix are in my gallery and I will add the after pix tomorrow.

Thanks!

Frank

Ok - didn't work - operator error.
Long story short.
Built this model in 1983. It fell off a shelf in 1994 or 5. Languished for years. For Christmas 2009 my kids chipped in and gave me the Eduard PE, YMW resin and L'Arsenal 40s to rebuild it. It sat for another 9 months till I saw this campaign. In Sep 2010 I started the rebuild. Finished the rebuild about 2 months ago then decided to go diorama. Finished the dio 2 weeks ago.
The pics are all on my personal gallery page at oceano75. If I can figure out how to get them here, I will. I hope the gallery posts are enough to prove I completed the campaign and earn me the ribbon?
Thanks for your help and patience.
Now, for the SAR campaign!

Frank,
Uploading images to the campaign gallery is just like uploading to your personal gallery. Looks like you uploaded some "Before" images into the campaign gallery back in January.

Here is a link to the campaign gallery.

OK guys, how did you do that??
Keith,
A couple of months ago you told me how to get images into the post. I did what you said (I think) but all I got was a bunch of red xs. You got my pics to show up!!
Gary,
I know I uploaded pics in January, but now they keep going to my personal gallery which is full. When I go to the campaign link, my blue stripe is there and them the campaign stripe is below it, but there is no upload tab on the campaign stripe. In my gallery the last blank block has "upload photos" in in but the campaign gallery just has a blank block.

I never knew I was so computer illiterate!!

Can I copy pix from my gallery to the campaign gallery?

Thanks for your patience and help. I apologize!

Frank

Hi Frank from the sound of your problem you might have to re-size your photos, if the photos you have already up-loaded are to big the files will not accept them and you will not be able to add more until you have deleted some. To use photos from your profile page,
1.you have to right click mouse
2, left click properties
3. copy the J.Peg data
4. then paste into image script

(img ) hpttp-----------------------------( img )
Delete this part

(img ) ***************** ( img)
Then paste inbetween the centre of the brackets
and post reply
Hope this helps you Frank
good luck Keith

For some reason I have begun modeling again. My entry for this campaign, Dragon's old 1/700 Yushio Attack Submarine was built and had a crummy hand painted paint job at the start of the campaign (well, for several years). I have begun putting a new coat of paint on it and it does look a bit better.

Before:

Now:

Not perfect yet, but it sure looks a lot better! You can also see I straightened out that second mast.

Hi guys,

I think I'm half way there. I can put pix into a post:

But when I go to the Drydocked Campaign gallery there is no upload pics tab either on the bar or in the blank photo block. So I still can;t get these into the gallery (and I know I did it in Jan). Where is the uplink tab in the Campaign gallery? (Note that there is an uplink tab on my personal gallery bar, but that does not go to the Campaign gallery)

Thanks

Frank

Hello Frank,
Try this to upload your photo in the gallery.
At the top of the page you will see a tab Photoos, Click on it.
Then go to active campaigns and click on it.
Then look for MSW "Dry-Docked Campaign and click on it.
In the right cornor you will see a upload photos tab and click on it. After that the system should tell you what to do next.

You might want to be logged on the Kitmaker site before you try to upload photos. Sometimes you do not need to and other tines you do.

I would suggest you get a free account at Photobucket. I upload my photo's there and then to the posts or to campaign gallery's.
If you have any problems, Let me know.
Cheers,
Bruce

Greetings All!

"Life" put a crimp on most of my building plans over the last few months. I have a few ships in the drydock basin, so I'm changing my entry from the big gun monitor USS Wyoming to the original monitor...the USS Monitor (Commanders/ISW 1/350).

I had nearly completed her and my plan was to put her in a seascape diorama. After a late night of work, I carried her over to a shelf (we have 4 cats!). It never made it. Somehow, I managed to let it slip off of my cutting board. She ended up face down. Although there aren't very many parts to this model, I was heartbroken and just put her on the back shelf.

So, here's a few photos of the dusty "rebirth" of my 1/350 Commanders/ISW USS Monitor. I need to repair deck fittings, a few deck vents, finish the turret, replace the turret roof, finish painting, and get her into a seascape.

I have added some more coats of paint to the Yushio. The sub is looking good enough that I have moved on to painting the base (Tamiya Gloss Black). The tricky part will be adding the red lettering (Tamiya Gloss Red). I will try using my 000 brush for that although if that is too difficult I might try using a Tamiya Paint Marker.

The black base coat of the stand is looking pretty good. Now I get to try picking out the lettering in red.

Hmm. I seem to have hit a stumbling block trying to pick out the letters in red. The red paint doesn't seem to want to stick on the letters and tends to run down between the letters. I tried using 000 brush but maybe that is holding too much paint? I am trying to paint the whole front red figuring to then overpaint that in black then carefully sand off the black along the letter surface to reveal red but at this point there is no red to reveal. I have been using tamiya paints for the stand though and these seem to give problems when hand painting (though the black went on nice enough). Another idea is to get a Tamiya red paint marker (which I'll have to go out and get).

Hello Gary,
Are you using acrylic or enamel paint? Also how old is the paint. If you are using acyclic paint that is old and thick you might want to thin it out a little, The same with enamel paint. You also might want to try an different red paint from a different maker. you might have gotten a bad batch.
Other then that, How about gold or white colors grab you?
I hope this helps you in someway,
Cheers,
Bruce

I stick to acrylics. I can't seem to stand the smell of enamel thinner anymore. I might try thinning out the red paint but it almost seems to be too thin as it is. Couldn't hurt to try. I was indeed thinking of switching to gold or silver (Gunze acrylic).

A bit disheartening to have the sub in good shape paint-wise and now I'm having trouble with the stand.
