Ok, yes, that is clear. You have to dust this type of mesh because the grid does tend to get clogged up with paint. I'll watch out when I add the nets on the Wasp.
Cheers,
Julian

You're right with the paint on the nets, indeed. I tried to brush off the paint, but didn't manage to get all of it.

Crank up the compressor and use an empty airbrush. Either that pr a light dust coat. No big deal Daniel.

The decals from Hawk Graphics arrived today from Canada which is excellent shipping speed by Darren Scannell seeing as I only ordered them last Saturday. A big thank you there
The quality and workmanship is beautiful making my first efforts pale in comparison.

January 21st update:
I have added an AV-8 and a Chinook to the hangar bay. Just need to add some tow vehicles and It is ready to be fitted to the hull, (after wiring up the Led's ).
Things seem to be moving slow but there is a lot of work involved in the "innards" of the Wasp:

Also put the crossed anchors on the ramp to the vehicle bay, not exactly the same as in the photo but not many people will see it anyway, (unless they stick their eye right up the Wasp's stern )

cheers,
Julian

Sorry Julian but that is not a Chinook.. It is a CH-46. Smaller than a Chinook and doesn't operate of an LHD if Ospreys are aboard I think.. But it is your model so do whatever you want.. But it is not a Chinook....

Checked Wikipedia, you are right, different heli's, not at all related and totally different.

Good morning Daniel, thank you ! Getting to grips with the aircraft now after leaving the masking and just painting the canopies.
The Hawk Graphics decals are magnificent, beautiful work and very fine. Can recommend them
My airwing is apparently going to be delayed by Chinese new year
I got a very nice mail from the store explaining that all the Chinese postmen were celebrating the new year and that the delay for my parcel would be about 1 week
Thought this was hilarious
cheers,
Julian

'morning Julian! Sounds pretty hilarious, indeed! I've also ordered a second separate airwing set from luckymodel, this one's also on hold at the moment, haha. The hawk graphics decals are really looking awesome, a nice addition. How much did you pay overall?

Julian, I'm impressed with your squadron. Did you airbrush the camo on the harrier?

Cheers!

Okay, Julian, the decals don't seem to be too pricey, altough it's still quite an investment. One thing I just noticed: you have a US insignia on both wings of the harrier on the topside, but there should be one on the underside, the right one looking in flight direction.

A small dab of paint will solve that Daniel, no big deal.

January 22nd update:
Odds , ends and test fitting. Fitting the final bits and pieces to the hangar bay:

Test fitted the poop deck. None of the internal parts are cemented in yet and the deck is only pushed into position: fit is spot on, whoever engineered this model certainly got his measurements right

all for now,
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Stefan, yes, it's airbrushed. I used my Badger Velocity with needle limiter to do it.

Guys, at the moment I can only contribute some "off topic" things, 1/285 vehicles:

Strykers

Abrams and an M88

HMMWVs

LAVs

Special Abrams

Strykers with SLAT armor

Sorry for the poor quality, but photographing miniature tanks is quite difficult
Cheers!

Beautiful detail Daniel, certainly considering the scale. The "slat" Strykers are magnificent !

Just amazing. I have to ask. Did those slat strykers come like that or did u actually put them on?
