Nice work there Dave! Steady as she goes!! I will have to wait on the prime as some muggy weather showed back up again...so I will be on the same path there as you, marking out welds and double checking things!!

Couple more small sessions and I think I will be in good shape on this!!

Ahoy submariners,
A little more work done to the VII D.....added fore and aft dive planes, rudders and propulsion.
Also worked on a display base....stained but needs to be
varnished.
This week I will work on the conning tower and should
be ready to paint by the weekend.

Cheers,
Joe

Ahoy Bruce,
Excellent build, amazing what you can do with such little subs!
I don't think that the DDD3 gallery in Campaigns has been set up yet.
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Bruce: To find the gallery - click on the gallery heading on home page, then click on campaigns, then click on 2012 & older campaigns, then look down the page to MSW Campaign Dive 3. and you should be there. Good luck. Bob

Well, Gang, this is interesting. I went to the Gallery to upload my pics into the campaign file. Uploaded 4 pics, which came back and stated they were uploaded, but I have absolutely no idea where they went. They are not in the campaign file, or in my photo file.
Obviously, I am a worse computer user than modeler ! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know, Thanks..................Bruce

Gentlemen,
Disregard the previous post. I managed to get 3 photos into the main campaign file by trying different methods. Obviously, not good when I post to the main files so seldom. At any rate, this one is completed, Thank you for your patience. Take care................ Bruce

Ahoy gang,
Update on the VII D build.
Tonight I started working on the conning tower and realized
that the UZO stand is way to short. The DF loop antenna needs
to be replaced by thin wire .....a little overscale don't you
think. Also the flak support stand which is a trianglar shaped stand is represented by a conical blob....that has to go.
And I may consider opening the hatch.

More to come.....

Joe

Joe,
Uh Ho.....I detect a bit of AMS (Advanced Modeler Syndrome) setting into this build of yours ! You always do tremendous work, we will follow this build with extreme interest. Take Care ..........................Bruce

Ahoy mates,
Did a little detailing of the conning tower area.
Built new UZO stand, add binoculars, compass, periscope shroud guard rails and flak support bracket.
I did decide to open the hatch now I need a 1:350 hand wheel.
And that is it...I am going blind!
On to assembly of tower and paint.

More to come.....

Nice work there Joe!!!
Getting closer...Worked on getting the tag line to look a bit more the part. I fit a strand of wire into the trench that went down the middle of the boat and then sanded to top flat.

I shot down some primer to to see where I was at. Things are coming together I think.

I might try and give a quick sand to the top once more.

Greetings.
While I was waiting for some major assemblies of my Titanic to dry I thought I would take a look at one of my latest aquisitions. It was so simple I made a start and within ano more than an hour it was built.

No filler required and fit is awesome. Never thought I would see one of these in plastic so I am a happy chappy.
Paint is flat black and bronze propeller. Also comes with some special decals for a sash across the nose of the sub.
Cheers
Warren

OK Bruce, Thanks for that. I'm making good progress now to cmplete my very first Campaign...woohoo.
But I'm really enjoying this build, small subs are def. cool!
@ Stefan - That came out nice! Like the technique you used for a sub on the open ocean for the base.
Getting there!
Dive On! Cheers
Dave
