No Daniel, this is the entire Dutch navy after all the budget cuts that our Premier Rutte has foisted on Holland so he can give more money to the EU.

Hello Warren, she looks terrific. Have you tried applying the decal for the flag to a piece of aluminum foil? I spray a primer onto one side of a piece of foil, apply the decal, trim it, and then apply CA glue and depending on the flag, glue it to, or wrap it 'round, the halyard. You will probably have to touch up around the edge of the flag. The foil allows you to shape the flag realistically.

I'm looking forward to seeing some more photos. Al

I took your excellent idea Al and modified it a bit by putting said white ensign on Bare metal foil, the self adhesive stuff. Took out the need for glue and it is a bit thinner than aluminium foil.
Cheers
Warren

Beautiful Daniel, the chipping of the twin 20 is excellent and the led lighting for the navigation lights looks fantastic. I am pleased to see you chose Hans Jürgen's ship as the subject of your build I will get some photos up tomorrow. I am getting an amazing amout of PE to behave in a very small area on the vosper I am trying to get clear-view screens fitted on an acetate window without leaving glue marks. This is really freaking me out, (not to mention knocking a hole in my supply of medicinal brandy ).

P.s. if you are going to smoke Cuban cigars to get your smoke generator going use only Romeo y Julieta Cigars. I have fond memories of a fantastic holiday in Havana drinking Havana club rum, (without any other ingredients), and smoking Romeo Y Julieta's with an elderly Cuban gentleman who had fought alonside Castro and Ché. One of the more memorable evenings in my entire life.

Beautiful work Daniel, the guns and the lights look terrific. I dove into the deep end of the pool today. I had ordered some of Bob Palmacci's plans, including the one to correct the bow gun tub. This is the end result.

I'll admit it was pretty scary cutting up a major part of a rather expensive kit. I bought a metric circle drafting template, and used that to make a template of my own, visible at the bottom of the photo. I made it to fit between the two rails on top of the foredeck. Then taped it into place and used a home-made scribing tool to cut out the larger opening in the deck. The plastic was very thick and it took quite a lot of work but it was worth it in the end. Now I think I'll have a nightcap, or two, to celebrate, and to ease my nerves. Al

November 3rd update:
I managed to get the clearview screens in without messing up the windows, one of the blessings of Gator Grip
The flying bridge side are very nearly ready for grounding and painting, the windows have been masked with Vallejo masking fluid.

It is basically what is already supplied in the box. The brass is just so much sharper though. I think with some paint it pulls together. Should look good.
Thanks Al,

I think they need replacing because they are much too thick. Supposed to be lines to roll up the covers of the flag boxes. They look more like tow lines
