Hello Warren, she looks terrific. Have you tried applying the decal for the flag to a piece of aluminum foil? I spray a primer onto one side of a piece of foil, apply the decal, trim it, and then apply CA glue and depending on the flag, glue it to, or wrap it 'round, the halyard. You will probably have to touch up around the edge of the flag. The foil allows you to shape the flag realistically.
I'm looking forward to seeing some more photos.

I took your excellent idea Al and modified it a bit by putting said white ensign on Bare metal foil, the self adhesive stuff. Took out the need for glue and it is a bit thinner than aluminium foil.
Cheers
Warren

Beautiful work Daniel, the guns and the lights look terrific. I dove into the deep end of the pool today. I had ordered some of Bob Palmacci's plans, including the one to correct the bow gun tub. This is the end result.
I'll admit it was pretty scary cutting up a major part of a rather expensive kit. I bought a metric circle drafting template, and used that to make a template of my own, visible at the bottom of the photo. I made it to fit between the two rails on top of the foredeck. Then taped it into place and used a home-made scribing tool to cut out the larger opening in the deck. The plastic was very thick and it took quite a lot of work but it was worth it in the end. Now I think I'll have a nightcap, or two, to celebrate, and to ease my nerves.

All that brass certainly dresses up the bridge quite nicely.

It is basically what is already supplied in the box. The brass is just so much sharper though. I think with some paint it pulls together. Should look good.
Thanks Al,
