Sounds like the wallet is taking a beating at the moment (he says watching his panting with exertion).. I have three cartons sitting next to me that came yesterday but I haven;t opened yet. I love the anticipation!!

Glad you enjoyed your break.

I think Alan is only person to have fitted a 1/35th scale thunderbox to his build Kev didn't fit one on his MAS, I draw the line at the ready rack of bog roll's Imagine stuffing a bog roll in the Oerlikon instead of a magazine of 20mm
Yes, the wallet is groaning in agony at the moment, especially after visiting the LIndenhoff on the way home, it's a really magnificent butcher shop. I wonder at times what I like most: models or food

If I'm understanding you Furriners, a "bog roll" would be the little roll of paper usually hung next to a privy and used for sanitary purposes? There was a fellow who was super-detailing (putting it mildly) the interior of a PBY Catalina who modeled the toilet and 'bog roll' found in the waist of that aircraft in 1/48 scale! Al

You got it Al Glad you are picking up on the cultural highlights here Try asking Warren what a dunny is Elsan's in model aircraft are modeled regularly, shows what a lonely place that was to have a moment to yourself

Nothing much really.. a couple of aircraft and the Trumpeter HMS Belfast.

Now all that is needed is for WEM to send me the PE set when it is released.

Cheers

October 27th update:
More PE work in the wheelhouse and on the flying bridge. For me rather time consuming work, (although Warren went through this like he was being chased by a rabid dingo)
The Griffon PE is excellent, nearly as good as the Mk.1 sets, only gripe is some rather strange calls on etch plate thickness.

Congrats to Adrian Newey and Sebastian Vettel on winning the F1 driver championships, (the constructors trophy will probably end up at Red Bull too). I didn't bother to watch the procession, F1 is about as exciting as watching paint dry at the moment thanks to Ecclestone and Pirelli's tyre antics,

Julian you are a bad man !! I keep talking myself out of the Griffon etch set, is it really worth that much ? .....then you go and post pics like these

Daniel, whose photo etch did you use? The magazine clips around the bow gun don't seem to be included in the Eduard set 5306 ?

Warren, have you posted pics of your finished build some where I cant find.

Cheers guys, hope you've had a good weekend

I am totally evil Kev Yes, except for the Indian GP I had a great weekend
The Griffon set is great but it is a huge amount of work as already stated. For me it is a quantum leap in the PE field of work and it is teaching me a lot I must admit. No dodging here, certainly while doin a blog. I can recommend it though

Hi Simon, it is worth the investment. OOB the Vosper is very, well, bare-boatish Italeri skimped here IMHO, putting the seriously under-armed version on sale and saving the 20mm oerlikon as an add-on set. Nasty marketing methinks......
cheers,
Julian

Hi Kev.

They are hiding in full view on the MSW home page in a photo-feature..

And yes the Griffon set is awesome, but you don't really need to invest in the one Julian got. I used the intermediate one and found it did the job on my boat and saved me about $50. In my opinion the stuff you pay extra for in the advanced set is not bad in the kit. But if you only want to build one Vosper and want the ultimate model get the super-dooper set.

I have another Vosper on the way and will be building the one modified for the St Nazaire raid... hopefully...

Hi Guys,

Warren, found the pics...Inspirational !!

I had the forum page saved as favourite Doh!

Re MTB74 are you aware of the section in John Lamberts Allied Coastal Forces Vol II. There are 7 x line drawings and a couple of photographs of the boat.

I guess I could have a look for the etch at Telford IPMS in less than two weeks...could jump into my basket

Cheers Kev

Yes my friend Kev is included.
I have the Big Ed 5306 Believe that it is the only one set for this Schnellboot.

Its not bad but it is not good either!!! Just to look at the quantity and quality of Griffon Vospers's details

Hi Daniel, no photos yet of the mighty 88? I am waiting for the Sockelshop to get it in stock, beautiful model. The Bf 109-E instrument panel is very interesting, big, nice detailed Revi and fantastic decals. Lots of models and not enough time

Whoot, looks like I got promoted again, my old gran will be so proud of me

I fell asleep and did not see the F1 race but ........ prepares a hot "Mate" and I shut in my bunker....

Kev .... on the market there is metal offer barrels for S-100 gun, I take the option to use the PE eduards
Serious mistake!!! I would like to see the geniuses of Eduards to join all the pieces and that is presentable the result!!!!
I am angry!!!!

After a lot of work doing again in scratch the cannon of 37 mm this one was the result. Uffff thankfully only take one!!!

Well though our friend Warren gets angry.......
Here some of them go of the monsters!!!

Already I see you with the put bib. Striking Sockelshop's door
