Thanks Jan,
Going to do a bit of work inside the spotting top first.
No pics of the inside but have the AOTS on HMS Hood to give some inspiration and ideas.
Cheers

One this missing, according to photos, and the GMM set is a yard arm on the mainmast.
made up and fitted.
The Admiralty boats and the Raven & Roberts dwawing. Trying to work out what goes where.
The 35 ft fast motor boat that does in the middle of the boat deck.
The chocks from the WEM set are designed for the kit boats. so are not brilliant on the more accurate AM boats, but the will work.
Finally for today the director on the spotting to painted and in place.
Cheers

Small progress yesterday, a bit of time spent working out how the outer 45ft motor boats fit.
On issue is they have a Carley floats sat under them, so the fit of the cradles needs to be precise.
The Carley Floats in place.
Working out the fit of the motor boats. It appears the moulded in cradles were not quite in the right place.
The WEM chocks are meant for the kit boats so needed adapting for the AW boats, and raising to fit over the floats.
More boat fun next update.
Cheers

Cracked on with the boats.
two 45ft motor boats, and the all the other boats I hadn't got round to sprayed.
The boats for the starboard vent, all painted and ready to be stacked.
Stacked,
The 45ft motor boats painted, just need their lashings and they will be ready to go.
The main big boats test fitted in place.
Might get a little further tomorrow.
Cheers

Before I fix the boats down, I thought it might be a good idea to make sure they don't foul each other.
I am using the WEM cranes with the GMM rigging, as they look closest to the drawings in Raven & Robberts.
The "cab"
The origami of the jib, about half way there.
The plastic rod and strip added as per the WEM instruction, and the origami done.
rigging fitted to the cab.
One crane done!
Cheers

Once more, very nice work, Si!!
The color effects on the carleys and the boats really stand out, gives a much more vivd impression than the overall grey! I like that very much!
Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan,
I am pleased with the way they have come out, and the Admiralty boats have a ton of detail to bring out, the Kit carleys are very good as is, and look better than better than the two hidden down on the superstructure that I replaced the bottoms with etched mesh.
The other trick is Citadel washes, or "Shades" as they call them, very easy to use and a small pot goes a long way.
Cheers

Thanks Jan,
The Admiralty boats are so well cast, that a gentle drybrush and a quick wash, and all the detail pops out.
