Hi Russ,
Actually they are a lot easier to handle that they look, especially building them attached to the etched fret,
Having used them on my HMS Cossack build, they goo look the business in place, have fun with them.
Cheers
Si
gotta give building them on the fret a go, me thinks

After a slight stall, made a bit more progress.
Main armament sprayed.
Light AA given a coat at the same time.
Blast bags picked out, and given a wash, and the forward turrets installed.
And the after unit as well.
More soon,
Si

Thanks Russ,
Was a bit stuck.
Had the windy stick out on Sunday, so seemed a good idea to get the sub assemblies sprayed for this one too.
Just the 4" mounts, a couple of boats, railings and rigging to go,
Cheers

Light AA detail painted.

And the midships ones as well.

Thanks mate.

Si,
you definitely did a smart paint job on the PomPoms, they'll look pretty cool installed.
The .5" and the 15" look really nice - especially the big guns - always makes such a difference once the main armament is in place!!

Thanks Jan,
She does look like a battlecruiser with main guns down.
The single 4" do need some love, they are the next job.

Si,
So very nice to see her back on the update list. The Triple guns look good in place and really round her out.

Thanks Todd,
These 4" are fun, bit disappointing however, WEM & GMM sets and no parts for these completely open guns.
Thanks for looking in.

Hi Si,
your 4" turn into a real labor of love!! Very nice work indeed!! And yes, it is quite disappointing that there seems to be essentially no goodies for them on the after market...

Hi Jan,
It is odd, no aftermarket replacements I could find, and none of the etched sets for this ship seem to provide parts for the most exposed weapons on the ship.
Looking on the bright side, it does give a lot of scatchbuilding practice.
Cheers

Finally got back to the 4".
Funny how a conversation with a fellow modeller at a show can re-inspire, (and a self imposed deadline to get this one finished for Southern Expo, (18/19 March).
working platforms on the other 5 mounts done.
Details on, a bit simplified, but much better than the kit parts unmodified.
sprayed 507B
Details painted, and a light wash added.
In place.
Boats railing and rigging to go.
Cheers

Thanks Russ,
Quite glad to get the single 4" done, could have put more detail in, but they look quite busy in place.
Thanks for looking in mate.
