Looking at their site they have lots of very interesting goodies but I am a tad concerned on how it would survive the trip from the EU to the US. Those lewis guns especially look very fragile.
I do need quad pom-poms though.....hmmmmm

I just did a big order off them a few days back. Sadly, they don't have the quad pom-poms in yet. I will keep on checking.

Sort of, same calibre, usually referred this side of the pond as a 2pdr. lacked the range & accuracy of a Bofors.
Next couple of weekends might be a bit slower. family stuff going on.

Thanks for the offer Mate, but got that in the stash, the deck scheme in the painting guide, I would reckon is right for 1941, but 1940 I am not convinced, especially looking at Alan Raven's RN camo 1939 -41, even he admits there is little good evidence as to when deck colours changed.
I am impressed with black Cat's gear, the lewis guns & 20mm on the Sir Galahad were theirs.

Hi Rory,
I would think they would survive pretty well, their packaging is very good, the frames containing the parts are secured inside the little plastic boxes with double sided tape, and parts are not brittle, I fount the twin lewis guns and Oerlikon I used on the Sir Gareth were very user friendly.

Hi Jan,
I have always had a fondness for the tribals since the Airfix HMS Cossack was the first model I built solo. The story of the Eskimo's survival after that Torpedo hit is a tale of epic seamanship. I just hope, with the groundwork this build does it justice.
I am looking forward to get on with the Pompom, the Lewis guns I have used, and as they are a lot more user friendly than they look, as they are not as brittle as some resin / 3d printed stuff I have used.
I think said company could do with upping it's game, I like their stuff too ,and their ranges don't overlap.

I have been told that the complete Fletcher upgrade set by Black Cat is the best in the business. That and their recently released Farragut, is reported to be superb,
The Farragut is on my wish list for this year.
You keep driving on Simon. Eskimo is a very interesting subject, and all the Tribal's have a certain elegance.

A little bit of progress over the weekend.
Small stuff going on by the funnels.
Also the white stripe added to the after funnel.
The etched after searchlight assembled, a vast improvement compared to the kit parts.
Started weathering the bow section.
More soon.

and studying the photographs, certainly looks like she had splinter padding around the searchlight platform at that time.

Splinter padding will have to do Rory, topweight was important on these long thin ships, as in stability terms like most destroyers the Tribals were a little on the Tender side.

They were tough old birds, the Tribals, Cossack lost her bow almost back to the bridge. She stayed a float for the best part of four days, and was under tow back to Gibraltar, If it hadn't been for the weather turning they might well have made it.
