This weekend's progress.
Boring bits first. Lockers around X gundeck.
Parts for the Black Cat pompom removed from their "sprue" and cleaned up, not there was much cleaning up to do, merely the attachment points.
test fitted, all good.
And painted.
Fitted along with the searchlight tower.
Not a clear shot, but more work on the damage to the interior.
And weathering on what's is left of the starboard bow. the oil staining needs tidying up.
Overview, including what looks from the photographs as oil staining down the stbd side.
The torpedo tubes as supplied are loaded. Eskimo fired at launched at least one torpedo at Hermann Kunne (Z19), and with this damage it his highly likely any remaining torpedos would have been jettisoned to save topweight and inmprove stability.
As provided.
The torpedoes trimmed and sanded away.
the kit detail parts added, they just need the compressed air bottles adding.

The Black Cat Pom-Poms are a real treat, I was concerned about breaking the barrels or the railings, but they do have a little flex in them, they are very cleanly cast and all it took to bring out the detail as a light wash.

I really do like them, I will be ordering some eight barrel units for the next project I have that needs them, I quite enjoy building the more complex units, but in my opinion these are the best on detail.

A bit of work on the bridge.
North star binnacle, gyro repeater and captain's chair, the binocular mounts are also from the spares, not sure who's.
The WEM bridge screen has been modified to make it closer to the photo, and some voice pipes for a bit of extra detail.
More details down.
Fire control added to the rear of the bridge, and the Black cat Lewis guns to the lower bridge wings.
A few minor bits and pieces and that bit is done.

I never understood how so many British warships had open bridges. Cruising the north Atlantic during the winter couldn't have been enjoyable.

Thanks Mark,
Most Royal Navy ships had open bridges up until the early post WW2 period. One reason was so the command team had a better all round view of the tactical situation, another is it keeps everybody awake, sharp and tough. The truth is more likely, our ships have always had open bridges why change.
Never mind the North Atlantic, it was worse for the guys on Arctic run.

Last weekend's progress.
The 2 after 4.7" mounts, the kit parts are pretty bland, but with a bit of paint & hidden behind shields they were satisfactory.

Welcome aboard, Thanks you for your kind comment. I have been fascinated by the Naval actions of the Norwegian Campaign, for a long time, and Eskimo's story in particular. They were tough old ships the Tribal class.
