The good folks at Gold Medal Models have been busy and have announced their new photoetch set the1/350 IJN Railing set .This set is expected to be available mid to late June and at a retail price is US$25.00.

This new set is intended to fit virtually any Imperial Japanese Navy warship kit in 1/350 scale.

We understand that the set contains 6,000 scale feet, or approximately 205 linear inches, of WW2 Imperial Japanese Navy warship style railing including "drooped chain" styles and solid pipe rails. The set also includes simulated canvas-covered 2-bar rails and pre-curved chain rails for upswept forward decks.

The styles and quantities are as follows:

• Pre-curved bow chain rails: two sections, each 9.125 inches long;
  
• Style 1 - main deck chain rails: nine (9) sections, each 9.375 inches long;
  
• Style 2 - upper deck chain rails: seven (7) sections, each 9.375 inches long;
  
• Style 3 - upper deck two-bar pipe rails: three (3) sections, each 9.375 inches long. ;
  
• Simulated canvas-covered pipe rails for upper decks: two sections for a total of 11.375 inches;
  
• Simulated chain rails feature individual link detailing;
  
• Simulated canvas-covered rails feature relief-etched "canvas" with see-through lacing holes;
  
• Illustrated instructions are included.
