Hi Warren,
Nice work!

A quick search netted this: Kriegsmarine nautical chart, 1943
found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Sea_Lion

I know it's German but in that scale may work.

Cheers Rob.

Hi Daniel.

Lucky shipped it to me for about $35. The it cost me about $65 so $100 delivered to me seemed pretty good when the kits are all over $100 here.

Cheers mate and good luck with the hull melting conversion..

A further update..
First up the compass that sits on the flying bridge..
This is the Italeri plastic with the lump on the top removed and the face of the compass (?) drilled out..

I had an idea after I had a closer look t one of the photos I have and decided to make the instrument you can see even more detailed..

Here the window making fluid is still drying. You will see the finished item a little later.
A plug panel and a folding seat added..

The seat pad has not been attached yet as it is a different colour and will be installed when the rest is painted.
Next up a wire conduit is added and that is that part completed until I go back and make a few more lockers in a few minutes.

And then for a bit of fun, after painting and graining the desk top in the wheelhouse I placed a map of the English Channel on the bench and a navigation instrument on it just for a little more visuals.

Hope you are all enjoying the ride
Cheers
Warren

Thanks Daniel!!

But there's more. Some brass cabinetry

Hmmm.. that light came out a bit wonky. Will have to fix it up. The purple stuff is Maskol. I am not sure if it is a flouro tube or not, but it can stay white anyway. I also painted the inside of the lamp shade silver but you can't see that.
I have a feeling that this project is going to finish up pretty quickly after I finish the wheelhouse and flying bridge..
Kindest Regards
Warren

Hello friends, looking for information I meet the recent Winner of the on-line contest of Italeri Ships's official site.. My congratulations to the Colleague modeler. and here I share ......

I wish could approach this result!!

Regards Daniel

Seem to have been missing some things, Warren has finished his build , just kidding here, Daniel has blown up the engine room of the "Kanal Kreuzer" and I, well, haven't done very much this week.

The S-100 build with the stripes and green deck would appear to be a Black Sea vessel if I remember correctly. You should be able to equal that easily Daniel, That is if you don't keep blowing up engines......

Magnificent work on the wheelhouse Warren, looks like the real deal. You will be finished by next weekend if you carry on at this speed. Going to build the Elco straight after the Vosper

Erm, no, I will be waiting until I get a PE set for it of course.
Next up will probably be something big and grey bristling with guns.

Apologies Daniel I failed to realise you had damaged a motor on your S-100. I hope you didn't think I was being sarcastic or anything.

A second S-100 OMG I am overwhelmed.

Go "Team S-100"!

Cheers

Jajajjaja Friend does not worry Sean ! I realized that you had not noticed the fire jajaja. After waiting 20 days for the replacements already this quite solved promptly to go to lake of tests. So at this point Im repair whit putty the hull, I have a few pieces of anticipated PE so from now we are real time ...... Sean ... even I do not have a second S-100 1/35 if I have four 1/72 and one Airfix of the early model ...... but have idea of obtaining an Italeri and turn her into a Type S-38 .... madnes madnes!!

This is the royal status of the hull..

Nice finished collection Daniel

I will list up my collection (mainly unbuilt - hangs his head in true shame) of 1/72nd & 1/35th E-Boats/S-Boots & U-Boats shortly for you!

Its sad (very sad) but I actually have them listed in a spreadsheet.

A S-38 version in 1/35 would not only be cool but inspiring.

R/C as well?

Cheers

Hi All

Just a small update tonight.
First up we have the completed right hand side of the flying bridge..

Then I made a start on the left hand side..

And a few more detail parts including this hydraulic fluid reservoir..

Which took a bit to get even close to right. It has been attached to the side using straps but I have not taken a photo of it yet..
Then a start on the brass cabinetry for the left side..

And that is it for now.
Enjoy your weekends. The QMHE is on this weekend and I will be attending for a look.
Cheers

After a week with no progress back underway again. The PE boathook racks are a great improvment on the moulded versions:

Just a test fit of all the boathooks at the moment.

Yes Julian they are a great improvement. Did you bother with the half round parts in the grooves? What condition are your plastic rods in? Mine are not the best quality, Evergreen is much better.

The rods aren't too bad actually, but I will be following your advice and be buying more Evergreen rods. The inserts? no, you won't see them anyway so why go for serious masochism

Continuing work here with the hatch covers and the dinghy, (I have ditched the Carley float to add something different here. Purists please foam at mouth at this infamy ).

Now I just know Warren is going to ask me if the hatch covers can open and close
Well, the first one doesn't, I didn't dare to bend the PE to much on the first attempt but I think I have the trick twigged now
Cheers,
(no holes at the dentist, lucky me )

Good to hear no holes in your tooths..
After I got most of my hatches to be moveable I decided it was a waste of time as there is no detail under them anyway!
Keep at it young fella!

Sleep tight, I think I'll head for the garden and kick the neighbours cat.
