Thanks Bruce..working away it it here to get it done!..
I tried something else for colouring the rigging..india ink on a brush works very well and isnt as rough on the lines. its easier to get into tight spots too..
Ill try and get the davits done today and a final dullcoat on the ship, then its alll about the water.
I put an overall translucent coat of dark blue/black over the base and it has really tied all that colour together nicely..

I'm still getting qual'ed on a DSLR camera to take passable photos for a change.
Also, I set aside the Iowa & Oregon to focus on getting the new Repulse dio in order. I also have a drastic conversion on the Revell 4-stacker (as the HMS Stanley in a gorgeous blue & white Western Approaches scheme for Divine Waterline) which will be posted soon.
Thanks!

Hello Jim,
At the top of this thread there is a tab called "Photos". Click on that. It will take you to where all the Kit Maker photos are. Look for campaigns and click on it.
At the next screen click on current campaigns. Then look for the Predread photo thread, Then click on it. it is near the bottom.
You should see 2 threads, In progress and Finished photo's. Click on finished and you can post your photo just like you do on a regular thread.
If you have any problems let me know.
Cheers,
Bruce

Here are the three shots of my finished submission..FIRST ship ever ...wow ..that was a job..
Loved every minute of it!
Interestingly enough,my entire inventory of ship models now consists of nothing more modern that the Grosser Kurfust! PRE DREDS are the coolest!

Thanks Bruce...I still want to put some future floor polish on the waves and trim them with India Ink around the perimeter of the base. but thats a job for later..
I had a great time building this monstrosity.....ships seem to be alot more labour intensive than, say, aircraft...in my opinion..
I still have Mikasa and Varyag in my collection to build..but I think I need a wee break ..

Hi Jim!
BZ, or "bravo zulu", is a two-lettered code from the Allied Tactical Publication meaning "Well Done". It's often used in conversation in that context among naval afficinados.

Hi Bruce!
That's very gracious, thank you. My Iowa scratchbuild is a real uphill fight (faulty references and all) and when a large commission job came in, guess which model project got priority...

Hello Karl,
Jim wants me to do a write up of the campaign and he is going to add the photo's. When you or the others who have an injury reason get done, Let Jim know so he can add your photo's to the write up.
The second week of November I go in for Heart Surgery, So I am trying to get all my Campaigns either done or covered. So let me know if you need anything from me to help you get your build done.
Cheers,
Bruce

Not a problem, Bruce. I'm almost 90% finished with the entry, anyway, so I can probably have some pics within a few weeks.
