May 27th update:
Back on track, not as crispy as I would have liked but this build is too big to strip down and repaint.

They have special Sutil magnets in the crash barriers Daniel, they get switched on when he passes

May 30th update:
The deck could get to be pretty crowded with 16 B-25s parked on it:

I reckon you are right Julian, the deck is going to look very busy, and impressive.

Is there any logic in the B25's being all in clear? as the canopies and nose glazing look to be separate.

must admit I am not a fan of aircraft in any scale all in clear, especially things like the undercart & props.

Hi Simon, no absolutely no logic at all. The tail cone an turret could have been done with transparent plastic just like the nose cone and cockpit canopy. I hate the whole plane being done in transparent plastic, its brittle and doesn't cover well when painted. My favorite gripe as far as Trumpie 1/200 models are concerned

Hi Eugene,
yes, I can imagine they are. The scale certainly won't make life easier.

Well said Julian,

I was beginning to wonder if I was missing something. Just seems to me daft to mould the whole airframe clear particularly in such a large scale, when they could put the airframes on one sprue and the canopies on another.

Maybe I am being simplistic?

Hi Simon,
No, you are not being simplistic. Besides the "benefits" of moulding the aircraft this way it means I am now masking 16 upper turrets and tail cones before I can spray the aircraft.
Actually this way of producing the aircraft just irritates me

June 1st update:
Getting rather fed up with 1/200th B25's
Nearly half way there though. Also working on the rigging on the island, (no photos yet ).

To maintain as much of my sanity as remains I am doing double time on this little stroll down memory lane:

Tamiya's SAS Jeep. I am adding the Black Dog resin set and I plan to do a diorama with this little guy and the LRDG Chevrolet, also pepped up with the Black Dog resin set.
Not a ship? Hell yes ! Ships of the desert
They even navigated by using a Sun compass.

Hi julian,

great progress, your Hornet looks absolutely stunning!!

I can feel your pain with the aircraft. Those Trumpy planes are quite painful indeed, even if you're doing only one or two Walrus or Arado. But again, your results look really fine and bring a lot of life to the deck!!
Nice desertship by the way....

Hi Jan,
thank you very much The interesting part here is getting 16 B25's on the part of the deck I have reserved for this purpose
I bet those WW II carrier aircraft handlers could tell a few secrets
The reason I bought the Jeep and the Chevy was because I have been wanting to try the Black Dog resin sets for a couple of years now. They are very sexy to use and give the models a really well packed look. Really good IMHO.

Julian,
One of those links I posted earlier had a nice shot of the B-25's lashed to the deck.

Cheers Rob.

Yes, saw that one Rob, Thanks. I mean to say that someone did a lot of homework before putting this proposal to the high brass.
It really is a tight fit.
