June 22nd update:
Having passed the Summer solstice, traveled to Schiphol for a new Revell Spitfire and watched "One lap Lewis" get his butt kicked again by Nico Rosberg I managed to find time to weather and decal the albatross hanging round my neck:

The final additions to the B-25's will be done this week.
Now what the heck is this:

Now one photo should make Phillip a lot happier .....

Julian,
Truly one of my favorite features of this beautiful Carrier build (out of so many) is the partially lowered deck elevator with the Wildcat on display.

Since I know absolutely nothing about Carrier life, I was wondering: What was the SOP for folding aircraft wings -- above deck? ... below deck? ... either/or? ... Were wings usually left extended in case of a scramble and folded only whenever space was a real concern?

Hi Mike,
My seagoing experience was restricted to oceangoing tugs, freighters and heavy lift vessels. I can safely say that space on a ship is always a premium requirement so if the wings could fold they would be folded. That's why I did the surgery on my Devastators on this build when parking them below deck.
Thanks for the kind remarks about the forward elevator.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi Julian,
Great job on the B25's the weathering is superb, subtle yet brings out the detail.

Hi Julian
Just to echo what Simon says great work with this build and the weathering is spot on and as for displaying this Beast of a model I think it would look like a masterpiece any where definitely not one for the shelf of shame

That is where you are wrong Darrell, I rarely have the patience to mount my builds when they are finished.
I am still not sure what I going to do with this beast,

Thanks Simon, the weathering is an improvement, if you don't you end up with a rather bland, "cloned" looking collection of aircraft sitting on deck.

And don't forget the Japanese picket boat that they stumbled upon, which caused Doolittle to launch earlier than planned.

I love that turn of events story! I'll bet the Devastators were rushed topside and their wing-tips went down post haste after the B-52s were launched!

Kev, Al, Mike,
calm down gentlemen please. Next you will be asking me to build a 1/200 model of Tokyo next to my pond in the garden.

You have a pond? ... Hmmm ... I can see it now. ... you'll need to excavate the garden; we'll build Tokyo in its place, there ... then move the barbecue over there for now cause we'll need to widen the pond ... oh, that nice slate walkway absolutely must go. ... Now we'll need more room for China -- you do realize that the B-52s will need a place to land?! ... Hmmm ... let me see ... what's the squre footage of your house? ...
