Hoping my lights arrive from Evilbay soon, so I can get some pics organised!
almost missed out on your commissioning of your Prinz Eugen! Congratulations mate, this is one fantastic build and a wonderful model! I can feel your pain during the last years, but you made it! That's great!

folks 'cos this baby's finished!

thanks for watching!

Thanks everybody for not pointing my awful grammatical gaff, and understanding exactly what meant!
I will miss following this build
Do I get the feeling you may be watching out for icebergs on your next project.
Cheers
Si

Can't resist.
April 23, 1936 - Ship 'J' Heavy Cruiser - keel laid, Krupp Germania shipyard.
August 22, 1938 - Hull launched
August 1, 1940 - Prinz Eugen commissioned. Captain zur see Brinkmann commanding.
total construction period - 1562 days
---------------------------------------
January 19, 2014 - Russell Earmes begins work on Trumpeter's less than perfect 1/350 kit of Kriegsmarine heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen.
March 5, 2018 - Russ is almost there, just the ensign and maybe a bit of restrained weathering to be done.
construction time to date - 1507 days
Andy - who has been watching this build with great interest, and once lived in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (but has long since moved)
(or is it?

) as I decide that I really don't like the fw'd rigging and decide that it needs a bit more tweaking.

)I'll join the chorus and encore on a great job on the rigging. It always makes a ship look complete.
I am looking forward to the flag hoisting. I shouldn't say it but it almost seems inevitable that the decal would fall apart given the trials and tribulations of this build.![]()
