Hi folks.
Well, it is with sadness that I must resign from the campaign.

There's jut no way I will finish by the deadline of 1st of July.

Fear not, though, as I shall continue the build in my blog here
See you on the 'salty side'

Well it looks like work has taken over my life again and I to will not be able to finish the campaign but will still be following your build Russell for as much help as I can get with this build.

Howdy Y'all

It doesn't like the Ise will be completed by the deadline. I'm working away a few hours a week but I don't even have the deck, lifeboats or floatplanes painted with a week to go.

I thought an "Out of the Box" build would be a little faster but it didn't work out. I complete the Ise in the "Unfinished Business 2015" campaign.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Thanks Si, Keith.
Agree with Si, Keith. Would be good to see you blog the rest of your build.
Don, so close yet so far-will be watching with interest in the unfinished business campaign.

Greetings!
Matthew and I started and finished his Bismarck. I've been really pressed for time and I'm terrible at uploading pics!
Here goes...something??

Hopefully that worked! I'll post some of his comments on the build later. We're headed out the door to Yosemite for our Annual July 4th hiking! The little bugger loves it! He first hiked to the top of Sentinel Dome when he was just 4. I was huffing and puffing!
Thank you!

Great job on the Suvurov eMan, working on the Borodino at the moment so I know what you went through.
Daniel & Matthew, very tidy job on the Bismarck, nice build indeed.
Cheers.

Hi y'all
Just curious where would I see the ribbon for this campaign once it's awarded? Is it in the profile? Of so I don't think I got my award
Thanks
Dave

You should be seeing your ribbons in your profile fellas! I was only going by what I saw in the gallery, and did not scroll trough the 26 pages herein to see if anyone else had finished.
If someone else is deserving of the award, please give a shout out!!

Thanks for a great campaign; I learned a lot from your builds and enjoyed following everyone's builds. Hopefully I will complete my IJN Ise in the Unfinished Business 2015 campaign.
Take care,

eMan - Beautiful job on the Suvarov! I, too, hope to get around to my Borodino some day soon. Very inspiring work!

Don - I'm looking forward to seeing your Ise in the Unfinished Campaign. I'll be there with Lord Knows WHICH unfinished model! My "Drydock" is really starting to get back-logged.
My "Drydock" is really starting to get back-logged.
As a follow-up to our Bismarck post, I wanted to say that Matthew actually did the painting and gluing. He WANTED to use my Colourcoat paints, but those are going to my projects. So, we went to Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair and picked out close matches. I decided to have him leave the superstructure unpainted so I could clean up the "extra" paint on the sides by scraping it off with an x-acto. Everything else is brush painted. The hull stripes are kit supplied decals. The waterline is done with black striping decals from Microscale. I was hoping to reduce the enormous freeboard that the kit has. Bismarck looks like he's riding light, but it "seemed" to help visually reduce the upper hull.
I had a bit of humble explaining to do before we started the kit. I made the mistake (??) of showing him some pictures of seascapes by Kostas Katseas. THAT'S how he wanted his ship to look!! Oy. The Boy IS ambitious.
After getting him to let ME off the hook with his Katseas Komparisons, Matthew settled on painting the underside of the display bottom because he liked how "shiny" the water would look. He mixed blue and green acrylic paints to get the color he liked.
Bismarck proudly sits right on top of the case with my 1/350 Missouri.
Thanks again to all. This was what I needed to kick-start my building again. Even better is that Matthew has started on the path to the Dark Side! He's now the proud owner of a small Stash: Titanic, Prince of Wales, Missouri, and a P40E. I KNOW he's got "the itch" because he keeps asking what my plans are for MY Stash!
