Anyway, does anyone know where you can get depth guage decals? I hate dry decals like the ones supplied by Pontos so please excuse the lack of them for this build. Also, some Royal Navy flags would be good.. Only a British flag in the kit, and it isn't right anyway..
Cheers for now.
Warren
Warren, The Resin Shipyard http://www.hawk-graphics.com/ do a set of RN hull numbers that include some depth markings they also do RN/RCN/RAN and RNZN ensigns/jacks and funnel symbols in a set. List as 'coming soon/under construction' are RN/RCN/RAN signal flags in three different sizes.
Hope that helps, I've not ordered from them but do plan to in the future for those very sets.

Great job Warren, nice to sea another Zvezda Dreadnought done, and with the Pontos upgrade.
More on the Duke,
12 20mm, 4 on the rear of the boat deck and 8 on the catapult deck.
The pedestals

Mounts for the gun and shield added.

the solid railings in place on the catapult deck.

and a mix around the boat deck.

an overview of where the old girl is today.

A few more carley floats to go on, then rigging and the rest of the maindeck railinsg.

Thanks Todd,
I have done the worst bit, getting frame on to the pedestal. the rest is a little less frought.
The rigging on the Duke is quite simple, except for 19 flag halyards, mostly the aerials between the masts, and of course the cranes.
Cheers Russ,
Could well be, but I keep finding other little details to add.

The Dreadnought is awesome, I hope I can do my Trumpy one justice. The one issue is the anti torpedo nets no one makes a set of them stowed. Using shoe laces as some have looks so so.
The DoY looks amazing can't say much else.
I'm plodding along on the Warspite attaching the front superstructure with all its fiddly-bits. I also mounted the secondary guns and painted the blast bags. Ever onward.

Well actually the Pontos set comes with some fine gauze which I presume is for use as the nets but there is no mention of it anywhere in their admittedly hopeless instructions.
Looking good Tom.

Question do any of you folks put crew figures on your ships?
Some of the completed ships I have seen look pretty good with them.

Just adds another level of painting detail I can do without at the moment. In other words I am enjoying the construction of kits at the moment, not necessarily the painting of fine details.
But I agree they do add to the realism and give a sense of scale.

I tend to use figures on waterline builds on a sea base, (personal pet hate - I can't stand open bridges on a ship models on sea bases with no figures!)
Full hull on a stands I don't tend to use figures as usually I do a clean finish (Sort of "Builders model")
